OOTD: The Show Must Go On

OOTD Picture

The first half of 2016 is over. And usually around this time of the year, I like to reflect on how my year has been so far. So I know if I am heading in the right direction or not. I am a bit of an organised freak, so I like to keep an eye on any aspect of my life. 2016 has been fab to be honest. My family and friends are well. I am well. The summer weather has been great in the last couple of days, although I am still suffering from hay fever, and it got worse last weekend, but I am hoping to be free of it very soon, crossing my fingers, and my toes.

Fashion and Style Police is growing and my income reports are also looking good, which is fab. This blog started as a hobby, then became a part-time job, and is now a full-time job. I even have a lovely lady working with me to keep this blog alive and kicking, so I am happy I am reaping the fruits of my labour, and all my efforts have not been in vain.

My Book – How to Cash In as a Blogger is also a bit popular on Amazon (please leave me a review on Amazon if you haven’t done so already), so I feel extremely blessed.

Overall, the first half of the year has been fantastic, and I am raising my glass to the second half of the year, hoping it is even better.

Now over to this outfit. I wore this outfit some days ago. We were visiting friends and family in another city and I wanted a simple/casual outfit, so I went for this. I also had on this gorgeous rose gold Grand Classic Michelle Keegan Coin Necklace by Sparkling Jewellery, and it got a lot of attention. It is a fine delicate necklace, and the coin design makes it even more beautiful and special. Plus in came in my favourite shade of gold – Rose Gold.

I fell in love with this necklace as soon as I laid eyes on it. It came in a very cute package, it was impossible to not fall in love. It retails for only £35, which I find very affordable. Sparkling Jewellery also has so many other unique necklace, bracelet and ring designs, with light price tags so you will be spoilt for choice on their website.

I hardly wear necklaces but I really love this piece so I will be wearing it a lot this summer.

Summer is Here

The weather is now unbearably warm. It is so uncomfortable to do anything. Sleeping is hard work, eating is hard work, cooking is harder, and even just breathing takes a lot more effort in this heat. I don’t cope well in summer. Can you tell? I like seeing lovely sunny days, but I like it when it is cool. When it gets too warm and air is just still, I get really uncomfortable. The fans we have don’t do much. Investing in those fancy cool gadgets for some cooler air doesn’t make any sense to me because the weather will change back to bearable before we know it.

I am unable to have the windows open for too long, thanks to the high pollen count. I have been squeezing and itching all through this week, it is a miracle I cam still work. I guess that is the beauty of working from home. You can work in your pyjamas even on sick days.

Enough of me moaning now. These last few days have been really hard for me, but how have you all be coping?

The only good thing about the heat and the hay fever, is that is now officially SUMMER, and the heaters have been off for weeks. At a point, it felt like they would never go off! One thing I love about summer is the long days, the fact that I can still take an outfit picture at 8pm if I want to is brilliant. I also really love summer fashion, especially the summer dresses and sandals. Being able to show a bit of skin feels good after being bundled up for so long.

However, showing more skin means, the summer body has to be in place, and I am still working on the abs as I said in the My Protein outfit post, so no crop tops here, thank you. But I will be showing the legs off, you know I love to.

I have recently tried a hair removal cream for the first time. I usually just use a shaving stick to get the hairs off but this time I applied some hair removal cream on my underarms, and it got rid of the hair smoothly. It was a lovely experience, so I will be using it on my legs soon. I will write a full review on the product, so look out for that post.

With body hairs issue out of way, the only thing left to really tackle is the stretch marks on the thighs. It is not a major issue, I have had them for years now. They have reduced but there is still room for improvemens. I would like to see them all off basically. I will be swimming a lot this summer, and I would love to go on holiday at some point this year, so getting the stretch marks off for good would be ace.

The guys at Pulse Light Clinic London offer free same day consultations for stretch mark removal, so I should be popping in to take them up on this offer. The fact that I can just walk in and have my consultation is so good because I don’t live in London, and most of my trips are usually not that planned in advance, so popping in is good for me. I also like the fact that there is no downtime, I can carry on as normal, and the treatment is great for all skin types. I will be looking into this treatment.

Thanks for reading and have a great day.

Summer HeatWave Fashion

Summer fashion is always a pleasure to behold, but with the current heat wave, it has become too uncomfortable to be fashionable or to wear makeup. I do not cope well in the summer, I am prone to Hay Fever which is a nuisance, and my contact lenses bother me in the sun (that is why I have my sunnies on in most of my outfit posts), and I hate wearing my glasses. They make me look like a nerd even though they are Givenchy.

Heatwave Fashion

Anyways, I have some tried and tested fashion tips to help us all feel good and look good while this heat wave is on.

Say No To Black

Wearing a black or a dark coloured piece during this heat wave is not a good idea. My sister wore a black sexy dress two days ago and she felt like yanking her dress off at work at a point. Dark clothing absorbs more light which explains why we get hotter when we have a dark coloured piece on. My advise is to safe them till it is cooler.

Have Your Sunnies Ready

With the warm weather and Hay Fever going on, make sure you have your sunglasses on when outdoors. This hides your eye bags if you have been up all night because of the heat, and it gives you an instant chic look which is always good.

Sun Cream

With the temperature reaching 30c and above, wearing a sun cream is a must if you love your skin. Especially if you are going to be out in the sun for a while. I won’t leave the house without it.

Sandals/Slippers

Avoid wearing trainers, sneakers, boots, shoes, and any footwear that will make you wear socks or cramp your feet. This is the perfect time to show off your well pedicured feet so make the most of it.

Summer Pieces

Crop tops, tank tops, short, sleeveless tops. dresses and jumpsuits; the list is endless when it goes to great summer pieces to wear during this heat wave. If you are OK with showing some skin then you have unlimited options. Just avoid dark coloured pieces as I previously mentioned.

Deordorant

Finally, don’t forget your deodorants. They are a must-have this season. Top up as frequently as needed. There is nothing more unfashionable than a stylishly dressed woman with sweat patches under her armpits.

That is all folks. Do you have any summer heat wave fashion tip to share? Sound off in the comment section.
