4 Fashion Hacks for Accessories

Accessories have the power to make and break any outfit, so I thought sharing some fashion hacks for accessories will be a cool idea. I have previously written about fashion hacks for jewellery, fashion hacks for handbags and fashion hacks for shoes, so catch up on those posts if you missed them.

Here are my top 4 fashion hacks for accessories:

Add a Hat

Fashion UK Blog

A hat attracts a lot of attention so make sure you style it right, so it looks good. It takes a lot of confidence to pull this look off because you will definitely stand out from the rest so make sure you are ready for the attention or the looks you will be getting, or just fake the confidence like I do sometimes.

Grab the Sunnies

Outfit Post Image 2016

If you have been reading this blog long enough, you will know I hardly ever appear without my sunnies. I have quite a few now, and I still plan to add more to my collection. I wear my sunnies for comfort than style. I am short-sighted, so I wear contact lenses, and I squint my eyes a lot in sunlight.

A pair of sunglasses is the most versatile accessory you can have. They are super stylish. Having a pair of sunglasses on make you look too cool for school, and you hide your eyebags, red eyes, no eye makeup, and many more under them. Seriously, if you don’t have a pair of sunglasses, you don’t know what you are missing.

Scarves

Fashion Blog OOTD UK

Scarves have the power to change a look completely. I have quite a few scarves for different seasons, and I find them so easy to style. If you want to experiment with your accessory game, I suggest you start with scarves. You can’t go wrong with them.

Watches

A watch can add a touch of class to any outfit. Plus, it’s a useful and functional accessory that has a purpose – it can help you to tell the time in professional or social situations without being rude and looking at your phone. Browse Rolex Daytona watches for the best of the best!

So there you have my top 4 fashion hacks for accessories. Whatever you do, always remember to keep it effortless and simple. Once an outfit looks like you tried too hard, it ruins the look. Never over-accessorize, it will make you look confusing. Stick with 1 or 2 key accessories at a time, and you will slay the look.

Let’s Talk About Specs

Sunnies: Gucci

Let’s talk about SPECS. I love my sunnies. I can wear them all day, every day, regardless of the season or the time of the day, if it were possible. I love sunglasses that much. I am currently looking at growing my collection this summer, and when it comes to my accessories, I like them QUALITY. I won’t go for a cheap high street branded sunglasses, only if I was gifted, scratch that, even if it was gifted, it will still have to be good enough. I won’t wear any horrible looking $10 sunglasses. No offense to those who do wear them, they are just not my style.

I like my accessories to do more of the talking when it comes to my style. I go over and beyond with my sunglasses in particular because they are a necessity for me. I wear recommended contact lenses and I find them uncomfortable in the sun or when it is too windy so I cannot leave my house without a pair of sunglasses. I usually have one permanently in my bag and I leave one in our car as well. YES, it is that serious.

I wish I had an unlimited budget to splurge and get some more cool sunnies to add to my little collection. I think they are a good investment. I have had my Gucci since 2009 and it is still perfect. I rather splurge on high-end designer accessories that last for donkey years than cheap high street designer knock-offs that fall apart after some months.

Summer HeatWave Fashion

Summer fashion is always a pleasure to behold, but with the current heat wave, it has become too uncomfortable to be fashionable or to wear makeup. I do not cope well in the summer, I am prone to Hay Fever which is a nuisance, and my contact lenses bother me in the sun (that is why I have my sunnies on in most of my outfit posts), and I hate wearing my glasses. They make me look like a nerd even though they are Givenchy.

Heatwave Fashion

Anyways, I have some tried and tested fashion tips to help us all feel good and look good while this heat wave is on.

Say No To Black

Wearing a black or a dark coloured piece during this heat wave is not a good idea. My sister wore a black sexy dress two days ago and she felt like yanking her dress off at work at a point. Dark clothing absorbs more light which explains why we get hotter when we have a dark coloured piece on. My advise is to safe them till it is cooler.

Have Your Sunnies Ready

With the warm weather and Hay Fever going on, make sure you have your sunglasses on when outdoors. This hides your eye bags if you have been up all night because of the heat, and it gives you an instant chic look which is always good.

Sun Cream

With the temperature reaching 30c and above, wearing a sun cream is a must if you love your skin. Especially if you are going to be out in the sun for a while. I won’t leave the house without it.

Sandals/Slippers

Avoid wearing trainers, sneakers, boots, shoes, and any footwear that will make you wear socks or cramp your feet. This is the perfect time to show off your well pedicured feet so make the most of it.

Summer Pieces

Crop tops, tank tops, short, sleeveless tops. dresses and jumpsuits; the list is endless when it goes to great summer pieces to wear during this heat wave. If you are OK with showing some skin then you have unlimited options. Just avoid dark coloured pieces as I previously mentioned.

Deordorant

Finally, don’t forget your deodorants. They are a must-have this season. Top up as frequently as needed. There is nothing more unfashionable than a stylishly dressed woman with sweat patches under her armpits.

That is all folks. Do you have any summer heat wave fashion tip to share? Sound off in the comment section.
