OOTD: Style Comfort Zone

Black and silver look so good together. Who would have thought? I love how minimal and chic they look styled together. This outfit has autumn style written all over it!

I collaborated with the lovely people at Boohoo to bring to you this black and silver outfit. If you remember my last collaboration with Boohoo, it was the Black Friday Outfit post I featured sometime last year, which I enjoyed styling because it was an all black outfit. This time, the idea behind this collaboration is to feature a secret piece styled in my own way. This secret piece is this Emmaline satin slip dress I have on right here.

Now to be honest, I won’t have picked this dress at all. I won’t even have considered it. So when it arrived in the post, I was a bit disappointed. But when it came to styling it, I find it so easy to style. I went for black accessories because I knew they would look good amazing paired next to the dress. And I went for a leather jacket and ankle boot because they add an edge to the look, and they also usher in Autumn. I am now looking forward to Autumn Fashion, can you tell?

I have now fallen in love with this satin slip dress. And I need to thank Boohoo for taking me out of my style comfort zone. I won’t have pictured it this good. I now need to experiment some more with my style.

Bella Hadid Covers ELLE UK July 2016 Issue

The model; Bella Hadid is looking very fierce on the cover of ELLE UK July 2016 issue. I am loving this cover so much. The pose, denim shirt, light makeup and messy hair looks amazing. I knew little or nothing about Bella Hadid, never heard of her until this cover, so I was very curious to read more about her. I guessed she was related to the famous Gigi Hadid, they are actually sisters, but that is all I knew, her face didn’t ring a bell.

However, after reading her interview with ELLE, I know quite a bit about her now. Her full name is Isabella “Bella” Khair Hadid. She is an American fashion model, signed to IMG Models. She was born in California in 1996 to Yolanda Hadid and Mohamed Hadid. She has a fantastic modelling career, and has recently appeared on the campaigns of Balmain x H&M, Marc Jacobs, and Topshop. Her mother Yolanda is actually a ‘Real Housewife’ on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and that is how the family got into the limelight.

When asked how she copes in the demanding world of modelling:

My mom always taught me to think about something happy when I’m working, because it kind of shows through your face. I used to think about my horses. But now I think about other things. I wonder what was going through her head during the shot when she was stand- ing outside in the freezing rain, wearing just a high-cut red swimsuit and leather jacket? Well, that’s more of an aggressive look. It depends on what the vibe is. I was probably thinking, “Get me the hell out of this bathing suit.’”

I love her sense of humour. A woman with a good sense of humour can survive anything. What are your thoughts on Bella Hadid? Have you heard of her?

There is something about a nice sunny weather that makes me feel alive and ready to put on my most colourful outfit. Summer does that to me and more. I don’t know about where you are at, but where I am, it feels like summer, and I am so loving it.  The only issue I have with the warm weather, is the sudden bolt of Hay Fever that comes along with it. Thankfully I think I have discovered the right meds, and the right method of managing it. I won’t let Hay Fever ruin my summer this year, the way it ruined it last year.

Back to this colourful outfit, I wore this outfit to an event some days ago, and I got loads of compliments. I fell in love with this beautiful summer embroidered Chill Out dress as soon as I laid my eyes on it on the Joe Browns website. Bursting with bright colours and designs, what is there not to love? It is a perfect wardrobe addition this season, and it is also going to be in my holiday wardobe for the year. So if I go anywhere nice, sunny and warm, this colour block beauty goes with me. It is a laid back look but very stylish. So it is perfect for the lounging by a pool or a beach, and it is stylish enough to rock to a birthday party at the same time.
