Product Review: L.A.B.2 Makeup Brushes

I love experimenting with new makeup and makeup tools so I was thrilled to discover L.A.B.2 Makeup Brushes.

L.A.B.2 which stands for ‘Live and Breathe Beauty’, is a beauty brand that aims to inspire makeup beginners and beauty junkies alike.  There is a L.A.B2 makeup brush for every part of the face, so this is one of the perfect brands to shop, and the good news for us UK beauty bloggers, is the fact that we can shop this cool brand at our local Superdrug store. Isn’t that super convenient?

I received quite a few brushes as you can see above, and I am going to review them one by one, so grab a cuppa.

 

L.A.B2 On A Powder Trip Brush

My medium, dome-shaped bristle head allows you to grab and buff powder evenly across the face, neck, and décolleté for a gorgeous, flawless complexion.

PROS

  1. It feels soft to touch.
  2. It is full, thick and very fluffy.
  3. I like the length of the brush as well. I find some powder brushes too small or too long, but this is the perfect size.
  4. I achieved a flawless look with this powder brush.
  5. It is quite affordable at a sale price of £8.99, was previously £11.99.

CONS

None.

 

L.A.B.2 Read My Lip Brush

My long bristles allow you to easily deposit lip color evenly with every stroke.                                                    
My rounded tip comes to a firm point to provide you with a precise and controlled application; allowing you to line the outer rims of your lips for extra definition.

PROS

  1. I love the fact that this lip brush has a protective lid/cap for when not in use.
  2. The bristles are long enough to easily apply lip colour.
  3. The rounded tip makes it easy for me to apply my lip colour evenly.
  4. It is super affordable at sale price of £4.49, was previously £5.99.

CONS

None.

Jessica Alba Covers Cosmopolitan UK April 2016

I have spotted the first British magazine cover for the month of April, and it is amazing. The beautiful and very successful Jessica Alba is the cover girl for Cosmopolitan UK April 2016 and I am super excited. I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of this issue. I have admired Jessica Alba since her Honey days, and I have always been interested in anything that concerns her. Her company – The Honest Company, set up in 2011, is now worth £1.2 million, and last year, her personal value was estimated at £240million making her worth more than Beyonce (she’s  worth £176million). I like to know what makes successful people tick, and to read about Jessica’s success secrets and exactly how she made $1 billion sounds ace. I am also interested in the ‘Homeless to Hollywood’, ‘How is your Selfie Esteem’ feature, the fashion feature also sounds like a great read.

The cover is very catchy and girly with the pink background. Alba looks sexy in a playful way, with the white short dress, which works with the overall theme of the cover. I like it, I like it a lot.

This issue is sure to catch the eye of many on the newstands, and the price is also budget friendly. This issue with the enticing headlines, all for the price of £1. Sounds too good to be true but it is. I must confess, I hate paying anything more than a pound for a magazine. Anything over that price tag is just too pricey in my eyes.Most times, I wait to read any expensive magazine when next I am in a waiting room, or anywhere I am lucky to scan through it quickly.

The Oscar-winning British actress; Kate Winslet, a brand ambassador for Lancôme, has one of the most beautiful faces in the world. So it comes as no surprise that she is a Beauty Muse on Fashion and Style Police. I love her beautiful eyes and flawless skin. Her makeup is always on point, and she looks equally as beautiful without any makeup, in a different way. She also looks even more beautiful with age, beauty goals right here.

Here are some of her beauty secrets of the 40-year-old stunner:

Fresh air does wonders for my skin so I keep a window open in my room at night for a little bit of breeze. I try to get as much sleep as possible, and drink plenty of water too. Wearing make-up can make a woman feel confident, feminine and celebrated – and I think it also brings a sense of liberation.

My beauty icon is the make-up artist Lisa Eldridge. She is confident in herself and truly loves her job, which makes her a joy to work with.’

‘Glamour to me is about remaining graceful and understated. For example, with very bold lip colors, you can’t overdo the rest of your face,” the actress says. “With a bright-red party lipstick, just go with lots of mascara and keep everything else clean.’

“I rarely rely on one foundation – mixing two colors can make a big difference. I never use too much powder, only in the right areas [such as the T-zone]. I have peachy fuzz on my cheeks, so I have to be careful with powder.” 
Great tip here. I mix two shades of my MAC foundation too because I couldn’t get the right shade on its own. Mixing foundations does work!
I adore everything about Kate Winslet. Her down to earth personality and honesty is so rare, it is refreshing. She looks as beautiful on the inside, as she does on the outside.
