Staying happy and fulfilled

Life is filled with ups and downs for all of us. Don’t let anyone fool you. We all have our good days and bad days. But the key to staying happy and fulfilled is to ensure the good days are more than the bad days. We have the key to our happiness. No one can truly make us happy if we are not happy with ourselves. So the key to staying happy and fulfilled starts and ends with us.

So how do we ensure we stay happy and satisfied with all the craziness in the world? For some people that means becoming more mindful but for others it’s trying a calming remedy or piece of music. Finding what works for you is key when it comes to stuff like this and often it never hurts to try both or several solutions at a time. Here are 5 tips that have worked for me. You may find they work for you too.

Keep my circle small

There are a lot of people who want us in their lives for the wrong reasons. I am glad I am able to see through these people and stay far away from them. The last thing anyone needs is to have a toxic person around constantly or be around people who truly do not wish you well for whatever reason. Keeping my circle small means I don’t have to deal with those people. And it works great for my state of mind. Keeping your circle small and tight is one way of staying on top of your happiness.

My circle is so small that it only comprises of family and a few friends. I still relate with different people outside my circle but in a different way. It works great for me.

Follow my passion

My joy keeps me very happy. The fact that I am my own boss and I can do as I please never gets old for me. Following my passion keeps me fulfilled. Working long hours in a. job I have zero interest in would suck away all my happiness. Following your passion and doing a job you love is a great way to stay in control of your life and stay happy.

Listen to good music

Some that know me well in real life know that I am a sucker for good music. I am forever listening to songs on my Spotify. I listen to all sorts of genres, from Rap to pop, from R&B to African Jams. Music is like food to my soul and it feeds me. I would be lost without great music.

Travel

I love travelling. If I had an unlimited budget, I would visit a new country every month. I have been to a couple of countries and I have a long list of countries I want to visit or revisit. I have been to Dubai, Italy, US, Spain, Germany, France, Amsterdam, Ireland and many more. There are still many cities in these countries I would love to explore some more and I am dying to go somewhere new before the year ends. Travel and experiencing how other people live in their world makes me very happy.

Stay grateful and have a positive outlook

Gratitude is everything which is why I always remember to stay grateful. Regardless of what life throws at me, I ensure I stay positive and thankful. Negative energy has no space in my world, which is why there is no room for toxic people in my life. Staying grateful and having a positive outlook helps you attract more good things into your life.

Having a gratitude journal does help. It makes sense to write down 10 things you are grateful for regularly. That way you remember how blesses you are and stay grateful.

I hope you find these tips useful. These are just a few ways I stay happy and fulfilled. I could go on and on with these tips. Exercise, good food and my beauty sleep also help me stay happy. And I am sure you have many ways of staying on top of your happiness. Please feel free to share your own tips in the comments section. And remember to share this post. It may help someone struggling.

Fashion and Style Police Reviews Beauty Caffe & Aveeno

I am always looking out for new great skincare products to try. I have heard a lot of good things about Aveeno. So I knew I had to try some of the products and see for myself. Beauty Caffe Beauty Scrub also landed on my doorstep some weeks ago, and I was keen to try that out too!

This Coffee Scrub is natural and organic. It leaves the skin soft, smooth and hydrated from head to toe. This product is very high in antioxidants to nourish and protect your skin, helping to repair and rejuvenate your body.

I have used it a few times now and I really like what it does to my skin. I apply it all over my body in the shower and it leaves my skin feeling soft and supple.

The Coffee Scrub is made with fresh ground coffee beans, brown sugar and Himalayan Rock Salt which helps scrub away the dead flaky skin.

  1. It does all it promises on the pack. I love how smooth my skin is after using this scrub.
  2. It contains only natural and organic products which is amazing.
  3. I like the light RRP of £12.99.

Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion

I have heard a lot of good things about the Aveeno brand so I decided to test some of the products for myself. I got this Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion some days ago and I have been using it everyday. This lotion is clinically proven to go beyond 24 hour moisturisation and replenish the skin’s natural barrier function, to significantly improve the condition of dry skin in just 2 weeks. And I think it does just that.

I got this lotion from my local Boots to help with my dryness after having a facial treatment – Crystal Microdermabrasion Treatment. It is a treatment that sheds off the dead facial skin but more on that treatment later.

Should Kids Study During The Summer Holidays

The kiddies have been on summer holidays for 2 weeks now and loving it. We have tried our best to stay busy mentally and physically. And I think we are doing a very good job. The summer holidays in the UK is for 6 weeks, and that is a very long time. I know it is longer in the US and other countries, but for most of us here, 6 weeks is more than enough time.

The twins start Reception aka Big school in September, and we have been working on getting them ready for the many changes ahead. I have been working on getting them as independent as they can be for a 4 year old, and it has been a rollercoaster but a good one. They are learning very quickly and I know they would be more than ready in September on the big day. How are you all enjoying the summer vacation?

Should Kids Study During The Summer Holidays?

One question I hear among parents a lot is whether the kids should study or do any type of school work while on summer holidays. And my answer is and has always been yes. I was very studious as a kid and I took that habit to adulthood. It has helped me achieve so much in life. I got all my GCSEs at the age of 15 (a year earlier). And I got my first degree in Accounting at the tender age of 19. I got my  second degree in International Human Resources at the age of 22. Having the studious mindset helped me achieve this. I have never had an issue with exams and studying for them, and I want that for my kids. I want them to excel in whatever career they choose and starting young with them is the best way to achieve this.

The good thing is that the kids love it. They love the idea of studying. It is not hard work for them. It comes naturally and I want to encourage that a lot. Which is why we practise our all sorts. From Maths and English, to Music and Arts. They are picking them up real quick and already have favourites.

They are good with numbers and words, and are already starting to read and white even though they are yet to start school. Pre school did help but they did more of playing and growing up than learning over there. I like the fact that they are ahead of what they need to know and are loving it. The fact that they love school work at 4 years is a blessing, and I hope they take that mindset through primary school, high school and all the way to the university.

It is still all fun and games though. We always have to make room for that. We have had all sorts of family days out and activities in between, and we still have many days out planned.

Hope everyone is having a lovely summer holiday, regardless of how you decide to spend the time.
