8 Reasons Why Bloggers Fail

Fashion Blogger in UK Image

There are millions of blogs on the internet, many of which are inactive. This got me wondering why bloggers just stop blogging, only to start again after months of not publishing a new blog post, and to stop again for good.

I must admit that blogging is not easy. It took me a lot of time, hard work and dedication to get my blog to where it is today. And right now, I am only starting to reap the fruits of my labour.
But why didn’t those bloggers stay long enough to enjoy the benefits that owning a blog has to offer? Why do bloggers who start out full of enthusiasm and zeal fizzle out in a matter of months? Here are the reasons why I think most bloggers fail:

1.    They spend time creating content hoping readers will drop by
There’s this misconception that as soon as you start a blog and publish content for your blog, the readers will suddenly appear. That’s so not true. And then, many lose the passion when they discover no one is reading. When you first start your blog, the only way you can get readers is by putting your content in places they can see it. So sharing on all your social media platforms with the right hashtags help, more about this in my book – How to Cash In as a Blogger, so go have a read if you haven’t read it already.
2.    They don’t promote their blog; and when they do, they do it badly
This tip works hand in hand with the first tip. You spend so much time creating content but you don’t promote it on social media, or share your content with bloggers in your niche. If you don’t promote your blog posts, except your Zoella, no one is going to read it. Even Zoella has to share her blog posts.

And when some bloggers promote their blog, they do it in a spammy way. Bombarding every Facebook group with their links every hour or annoying their Twitter followers with the same old link every 30 minutes. Many would find this very annoying.

3.    They don’t earn any money from their blog
This is a common reason why many bloggers fail. People go into blogging for so many reasons, but when your main reason for owning a blog is to make money, you’re going to have a very hard time.
Blogs do have a potential to give you a nice source of income, but it may not be immediate, and it may never be as much as you think. so soon.

4.    They are not focused
You need to be specific when you’re blogging. You need to know who you are appealing to and the type of content you’ll create for your audience. Some bloggers talk about all manner of things, which is fine, as long as they are connected somehow, and that is why your creativity comes in.
5.    They do not post valuable content
People go to blogs because they want to learn, be entertained or solve their problems. If the content you post on your blog does neither of these, then your blog will most likely fail.

6.    They ignore the importance of SEO
When I started blogging in 2012, I knew nothing about SEO, but I had to learn and I am still learning as the Google rules keep changing. Majority of people looking for solutions or information consult Google first. If you want your blog to be noticed then you need to learn about SEO and apply its principles. Some bloggers completely ignore this and end up not being found out in the search results.

7.    They are too focused on themselves
Now this is where many bloggers get it so wrong. Your blog is not about you. It’s about your readers and you need to do everything you can to make them happy. If you spend time blogging about things concerning your life, without adding value to the life of your readers, then your blog will likely fail.

8.    They aren’t consistent
Consistency is key. You can’t blog one day and stop another. You need to do it consistently. You need to promote your blog, engage with your audience and build relationships consistently. This will guarantee your success.

Why do you think bloggers fail?

Beauty Treatments I Want Update

Fashion and Style Police

I wrote about beauty treatments I wanted to try some weeks ago. If you missed that post, check out the link above.

Well, this is an update to that post. I have tried the Cryotherapy treatment again. This time I had it on my face, and I even got a face and neck massage alongside, whoop whoop. This last treatment was a lot better than my first Cryotherapy treatment. There was a huge noticeable difference in my skin tone after the treatment. It is definitely worth every penny.

I am still undergoing my laser hair removal treatments as you all know, and that is going well too, but I am yet to sort out the teeth whitened top-up, so hopefully that will be sorted at some point this year, crossing my fingers and my toes. It is not like compulsory I have a teeth whitening top-up, but it will be nice to have it done.

Another new beauty treatment I have on my mind is the stretch marks removal treatment.  I got quite a couple now since child-birth, they do not bother me too much as they are barely visible, but it will be nice to have them removed. I came across this YouTube video, explaining the laser stretch mark removal treatment, and how straightforward and pain free it is.

I will definitely be looking into having this treatment done, and I am delighted I won’t have to go through pain to be stretch marks free. I think many people think anything ‘laser’ will be painful but that is so not true and I wonder why many think that way. Anyways, there are a couple of clinics offering this treatment at the moment, especially in London. A quick Google search – stretch mark removal in London, for example, will bring up many options.

Another beauty treatment I will want to have some time soon is acupuncture. For those who do not know, Acupuncture is a treatment derived from ancient Chinese medicine in which fine needles are inserted at certain sites in the body for therapeutic or preventative purposes. I have had acupuncture treatments quite a few times in the past and I found it very relaxing. I am hoping to slot in a few sessions at some point this year, so wish me luck.

So there you have them. The beauty treatments I am currently lusting over. Have you tried any of this treatments? Drop me a comment, let’s chat.

Thanks for reading.

Alexa Chung Covers Glamour Magazine UK April 2016

GLAMOUR-April16-cover-24feb16-pr_b_640x960

This cover is all shades of amazing, like really. Glamour got this April 2016 cover so right this time. The lovely Alexa Chung is the cover girl for this issue, and she looks divine on it. I am loving the pink background, it is so girly and pretty. Her green Gucci bomber jacket is so stylish, and the Fishnet tights, she has on, is sure to catch any eye. Underneath she has on an Archive by Alexa knit, a piece from her new 31-piece collection with M&S.

I have always been interested in Alexa Chung. I find her very fascinating, so I am eager to get my hands on this issue. Alexa Chung is like a fashion goddess, she knows her onions as far as style is concerned and I envy her wardrobe. I wish I could take a sneak peek into her wardrobe, I am sure I will be mesmerized.

In this issue, Alexa talks about the struggles of dating, what she really thinks about Donald Trump, and the irony of being labelled a style icon. I find it funny that she does not see herself as stylish. I guess that is what I find interesting about her, she doesn’t see what we see.

Enough of Alexa now, I am also very interested in reading about Ella Woodward, the blogger behind the very successful blog – Deliciously Ella. She is also the author of the fastest-selling cookbook debut of all time. Ella invited GLAMOUR Associate editor – James around to her West London kitchen to cook up an easy, week night supper that literally takes a couple of minutes. I am certain the thousands of food bloggers out there will be grabbing a copy of this issue. I like to know what makes successful people tick, as you know by now, so buying this issue is a no brainer really.

Will you be buying a copy of this issue? Sound off in the comments section please.

Thanks for reading.
