Product Review – Childs Farm & L’Oréal Kids

I have been using Childs Farm for many years now. It is a great brand for the kids, and the kiddies love the products. I decided to review Childs Farm Sensitive 3 in 1 Swim Strawberry & Organic Mint 250ml. We sometimes struggle to detangle my daughter’s hair, so I went in search for a hair product to deal with that. I got L’Oréal  Kids Super Pear Tangle Tamer and we have been using it for weeks now.

Here are my thoughts on both products.

This Childs Farm Sensitive Swim 3 in 1 Strawberry & Organic Mint is a shampoo, conditioner and body wash in one. It has a strawberry and organic mint fragrance. And it is great for use after swimming to wash away chlorine and leave skin & hair clean and shiny.

PROS
  1. I love the practical packaging. It looks good and does the job effectively.
  2. It has a lovely smell. And it leaves the skin and hair very clean.
  3. This product has no sting formula which is very handy with the kids.
  4. It contains natural ‘free-from’ ingredients and essential oil.

  1. It has a lovely fruity fragrance.
  2. The packaging is great. The spray pump leaves no room for waste.
  3. It is quite affordable at £2.
  4. You can use this on wet and dry hair. It gets rid of knots and detangles the hair within seconds.

CONS

None. It is a lovely product. I find it a lot easier to manage my daughter’s afro hair with this great detangling product.

A Gift-Giving Guide for your Fashionista Friend

Looking for the perfect present to put a smile on the face of your fashionista friend? Keep on reading and we’ll list down some of the no-fail gift ideas that you might want to consider. These gifts are sure to elevate her sense of style and allow her to make a fashion statement.

Wristlet

For the times that she does not need to bring a bag, but she needs a place to keep her cash, cards, or phone, a wristlet is sure to come handy, which makes it a good gift idea. Not just any wristlet would do. Stay away from the generic designs and give her one that is personalized. You can have it printed with her name, photo, or an inspirational quote. Check out personalized gifts from Shutterfly, including their wristlets, if you are looking for a unique gift idea.

Photoshoot

Give her the gift of experience! Make her feel like a celebrity model even for just a couple of hours. Hire a photographer and find locations where you can have unique shots. Make sure to take care of the wardrobe and the props as well. This will be an opportunity for her to show off her style and have it documented in photos. Have the photos printed! You can also print it on canvas. In the case of the latter, be sure to check out Shutterfly’s canvas prints to have an idea of a unique way to give her the photos from the shoot.

Phone Case

If she is truly a fashionista, she will be focused not only on the big stuff but even on the small details. These details include her phone case, which should match her outfit. Look for fashionable phone cases that will complete her look. Choose colors that she will love. Bright colors will be perfect if she has a funky sense of fashion. Darker hues, on the other hand, will be more ideal if she is pulling off a sophisticated style.

Nail Polish

Speaking of the small details, more than what to wear, she also most probably frequently thinks about the color of her nails. With this, another gift worth considering would be a nail polish. Give her a set of assorted colors. As they say, nail polish is the new girl’s best friend! Luckily, they are cheaper than diamonds, making them easy to give for the fashion fanatic!

Headdress

If you have a fashionista friend who loves attending festivals or who just likes to be funky at times, a headdress will also make a good gift. This is the less boring version of a cap! It is an ornamental cover to the head, which can be made of various materials, often of bright colors. This will be great for petite girls as the design of the headdress allows it to give an illusion of height to the wearer.

Your fashionista friend will surely be happy with the gift ideas that have been mentioned above, which will make her trendy and chic!

What do you think of these gift ideas?

A SkinBase Microdermabrasion Treatment

You all know how crazy I am when it comes to beauty and skincare products. Well I am also very into skincare treatments. I neglected my skin for many years, and I am actually playing catch up now. My skin is great but I would love to clear a few pigmentation issues. I had the golden opportunity to have a SkinBase Microdermabrasion Treatment a week ago, and my facial skin is still thanking me for it today. My skin has never looked so good.

What is Microdermabrasion

For those who have never heard of the Microdermabrasion Treatment, it is a non-invasive procedure that uses exfoliating tiny crystals or a diamond tip to help remove the layer of dead skin cells. When you remove the top layer of skin, the body interprets it as an injury. The body then quickly replaces the lost skin cells with new healthy ones.

My Microdermabrasion Treatment

My treatment was at Professional Eyes Studio in Northwich on a Saturday. As soon as I walked into the studio, I felt relaxed and ready for some pampering. The therapist examined my entire face. And then my face was cleansed of all makeup using a cleanser and the treatment started. I found the treatment completely painless and I was comfortable all through the treatment. A wand delivering a fine jet of abrasive crystals was used all over the skin. If I was to describe the sensation of the machine, it felt like an intense scrubbing on the face. Like a buff and polish of the skin.

Once the treatment was done, a simple moisturiser without any essential oils, AHA’s, glycolics or retinol was applied to replenish lost moisture and to prevent the skin becoming dry and peeling. The moisturiser used after this treatment must contain SPF to protect the skin from excessive sun exposure

The entire Microdermabrasion treatment was about 30 minutes. It ended with a hand massage which felt so good. As an online entrepreneur, I am forever online typing one thing or the other on a gadget, so having a hand massage was exactly what my tired fingers needed.

  3. Saunas, sun beds, sun exposure, botox, collagen injections or dermal fillers should not be used for the first 48 hours.

Who needs Microdermabrasion

I would recommend this treatment to anyone dealing with pigmentation, acne scarring, wrinkles and fine lines. SkinBase™ is the leading Microdermabrasion treatment.  There are over 2,000 accredited salons and spas in the UK & Ireland, so there should be a salon near you. The therapist at the salon would examine your skin during the first consultation to determine the course of treatment you need. Treatments plans can vary from single ‘beauty boost’ treatments to courses of 6 to 20 treatments every 7 to 10 days.

I had a single beauty boost treatment as my skin didn’t need a course of treatments. But I will be having a treatment every couple of months as I loved the glow the treatment has given my skin. It feels brand new. My skin has never looked this good and I am loving it so much. I didn’t have any reactions after the treatment except a bit of dryness which went away after 24 hours. I used lots of Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion for the first 48 hours to replenish moisturise. It helped a lot. And I did splash my face with cold water once after the treatment when my face felt dead dry. With lots of mosituriser afterwards.

You can check out the short video below to see how my skin glowed after the treatment. The picture above does not do it justice.
