OOTD: A Navy Blue Ditsy Tea Dress*

Next Navy Blue Tea Dress Image

I have been shopping the sales online, and it has been great. There are quite a few bargains up for grabs now so get in there now if you are looking to add some pieces to your collection. Some stores that currently have the spring sale going on are Debenhams, Illamasaqua, and Matalan. These stores have also added the new spring/summer collection to the stores and online, so it is worth popping in or browsing online, to see what is on trend at the moment, or you could just wait for me to wear it on here, lol.

However, I should add that knowing what styles and designs are in vogue does not mean you should go all out and shop all new collections. You can add few pieces and accessories to your existing wardrobe, to update it and give you new pieces to be excited about, and you should be able to style those few new buys with your current spring/summer pieces. The secret of having a stylish wardrobe is to avoid impulse buying. Always shop with your current wardrobe in mind, just so you buy pieces and accessories that would complement what you do have already. Shopping until you drop every season is not healthy or wise, that is why I always go for quality over quantity. I need my clothes and accessories to last longer than a season, that is why I am very selective of where I shop, you won’t catch shopping in many stores, names withheld to protect the innocent.

So over to what I have on, I am wearing a Navy Blue Ditsy Tea Dress. This dress is one of the new pieces I got in the spring sale some days ago and I love it. This dress is the TRUTH. I adore the colour, the floral print, the length, the way it feels, everything about this dress I love. I will be wearing this stylish dress a lot. It is so easy to dress up and down, a great choice.

Autumn Flowers

I love when the season changes because I get a wardrobe filled with stylish new pieces, and old pieces I haven’t worn in months, come back to life. I also do a bit of home improvements depending on the season. Autumn for me means more long, chilled nights in, so I like my home to be even more comfortable, I want my home to look and smell good. I buy a lot of candles and luxury flowers in the autumn and winter months, because I spend most of my time in the comfort of my home, away from the cold and the darkness.

Autumn Flowers

The lovely guys at Debenhams Flowers made my week when they offered to send me a Flower Bouquet of my choice. I instantly went for the ‘Designer Red Sky’, which is pictured above. I fell in love with the radiant red roses and the blue hydrangeas because they reminded me of autumn, and the bouquet has some of my favourite colours. When the flowers arrived, I was even more in love. Perfection!

The fresh flowers came in a white box, they were hand tied and I could tell they were handled with utmost care. The service was also great. I selected the date I wanted the flowers to arrive and it happened. So if I ever want flowers delivered on a specific date, I know Debenhams Flowers is the best website to place an order, and with the 7 days freshness guarantee, or money back, I can’t ask for more really.

I would appreciate if someone sent me next day flowers, I think it is a thoughtful gift to send to close family and friends, so I am offering my readers a 25% discount off The Luxury Flowers at Debenhams, excluding the ‘Flowers by Post’ range. The discount code you need is DFBLOG25.

Happy shopping.

Tips on Selecting A Personal Shopper/Fashion Stylist

1. Search the Internet and yellow pages to find personal shoppers/fashion stylists, or ask your favourite stores if they offer the service. Talk to friends, family or colleagues for recommendations, as word-of-mouth is generally the best form of advertisement.

2. Take a good look at the personal shopper’s website or blog who you are thinking of hiring. If the website or blog does not appeal to your taste, it is quite possible their style advice would not either. Websites and blogs are individual representations of fashion stylists so if it does not appeal to you, arrange a visit to confirm or look for someone else.

3. In order not to waste your time, speak to your personal shopper on the phone first and ask as many questions as it takes to make you feel confident in their ability. The good personal shopper/fashion stylist will be able to answer all your basic questions.

4. Arrange and go to a consultation. Visit their office or ask them to come to your house or office. A good personal shopper/fashion stylist should be willing to work with your schedule. At the consultation describe what you want and also ask about the fee up front. A normal fee varies from a free service to £100 an hour and above depending on what you want, so make sure you find personal shopper/fashion stylist that will fit your budget.

5. Free personal shoppers in department stores like Debenhams and House of Fraser are great if you want a nice changing room and do not want the hassle of queuing up to try clothes on. You also may get a bit of pampering with a tea / coffee and biscuits or snacks which can also make for a nice experience but if you are looking for a style advice and someone who is looking out for your best interests, you want to hire an independent expert personal shopper who is paid specifically for their expertise in finding the right brands and styles for you across any store.

6. If someone offers to take you personal shopping for a whole day or anything more than 3 hours, my assumption would be they must be new to the industry and do not have a lot of experience hence the long session. A good personal shopper does not need more than 3 hours even for an entire wardrobe update.

7. You need to do your own research. Most times new fashion stylists and personal shoppers just take a look at who they think their competition is and charge roughly around the same, when those more experienced personal shoppers may have worked for years and years to develop their expertise and therefore can command such a rate.

8. Please feel free to ask to see testimonials from previous clients or even ask to speak to the previous clients. LinkedIn is a good way to see if testimonials are genuine as some testimonials could be fabricated.

9. Do schedule a time to try on clothes or choose the final products from the choices given. Many personal shoppers prefer to pre-shop before you get there so all you have to do is make a final decision. If you trust his or her judgment, you may only need to schedule a delivery or mailing time.

10. Finally, I am a new Fashion Stylist/Image Consultant/Personal Shopper and I will LOVE to have the opportunity to help you wherever you are so please contact me ASAP for a good deal.
