OOTD: A Navy Blue Ditsy Tea Dress*

Next Navy Blue Tea Dress Image

I have been shopping the sales online, and it has been great. There are quite a few bargains up for grabs now so get in there now if you are looking to add some pieces to your collection. Some stores that currently have the spring sale going on are Debenhams, Illamasaqua, and Matalan. These stores have also added the new spring/summer collection to the stores and online, so it is worth popping in or browsing online, to see what is on trend at the moment, or you could just wait for me to wear it on here, lol.

However, I should add that knowing what styles and designs are in vogue does not mean you should go all out and shop all new collections. You can add few pieces and accessories to your existing wardrobe, to update it and give you new pieces to be excited about, and you should be able to style those few new buys with your current spring/summer pieces. The secret of having a stylish wardrobe is to avoid impulse buying. Always shop with your current wardrobe in mind, just so you buy pieces and accessories that would complement what you do have already. Shopping until you drop every season is not healthy or wise, that is why I always go for quality over quantity. I need my clothes and accessories to last longer than a season, that is why I am very selective of where I shop, you won’t catch shopping in many stores, names withheld to protect the innocent.

So over to what I have on, I am wearing a Navy Blue Ditsy Tea Dress. This dress is one of the new pieces I got in the spring sale some days ago and I love it. This dress is the TRUTH. I adore the colour, the floral print, the length, the way it feels, everything about this dress I love. I will be wearing this stylish dress a lot. It is so easy to dress up and down, a great choice.

How Much Is Too Much?

Fashion Image

There has been so much noise lately on how much is too much to spend on fashion. Some days ago, a top Nigerian gossip Blogger – Linda Ikeji, was slamed for showing off her expensive bag collection on Instagram, and there was this big argument on whether her handbags were fake or original. Which makes me wonder where we draw the line on how much to spend on looking fashionable. If my bank account was loaded with millions of pounds, would I spend so much money on a Birkin? Would it even cross my mind? I really don’t know because the reverse is the case, lol.

The lifestyle of the rich and famous is all about the flashy life alongside the heavy price tags. A parking space in central london could fetch £335,225 (this amount can buy a house in Cheshire), a Bugatti Veyron sports car could go for £1.8 million, so a Hermes handbag going for as much as £15,000 or more, would look like a reasonable purchase to the rich and famous.

The likes of Hermes can justify their crazy prices, all their bags are hand-woven and it takes 5 to 7 years to train the craftspeople making the leather handbags, and the prices reflect that investment. These huge prices from luxury designers also ensure the exclusivity of their products. The designers want to be sure ONLY certain people have access to their products, hence the heavy price tag. Imagine if we could grab a Hermes bag for £500, as expensive as that sounds to majority of us, many would still rob, steal or borrow to afford it, unlike the £15,ooo and above price tag which is above our reach.

Personally, I love handbags, they are one of my fashion weaknesses, but I see prices like Hermes as over the top. I am happy to spend below £500 on a handbag (less on shoes), so anything over £500 for a handbag is my too much. I like my Michael Kors, Karl Lagerfeld, Calvin Klein, Coach and the likes, but anything above that limit is a no-no for me. I won’t be able to afford it, and even if I could, I won’t be able to justify spending over £500 on a handbag to carry my junk.

Most of my bags are well below £500. I am also not into vintage, second-hand or counterfeit handbags, I only rock new and original bags, and everything I rock has to be new and original. I don’t do fakes, and it annoys me when I see people carrying fake bags and wearing fake shoes, and try to pass them off as original, and I see this a lot.

So there you have it, that is my ‘too much’ Is there a ceiling on how much you can spend on luxury purchases? Drop me a comment, lets chat.

OOTD: The Shape of Feeling Good

OOTD: The Shape of Feeling Good

Pertz Shapewear Image

Not sure about how the weather is at your end, but It rained cats and dogs over the weekend here in Cheshire, and it is still raining. The weather is beginning to drive me mad. One minute it is cool and mild, and even sunny, the next minute, it is painfully cold and wet. However, I was determined not to  let the rain stop me from getting my action outfit shots taken. So out in the rain, I poised, crazy I know, but I loved it. This act alone has convinced me on how much I love running Fashion and Style Police, not like I needed convincing to be honest, but as at now, I don’t see myself ever stopping ever, maybe when I am old and grey, and can’t operate a camera or a laptop. Guess my baby girl would be in charge of this space by then, if she wants it, I hope she does, I think she will. She is so into shoes at the minute, hahaha.

Outfit Post OOTD

For this outfit post, I had the pleasure of reviewing this Pertz shapewear leggings, and I must confess, I was expecting to receive a good old pair of leggings but this piece is a lot more. This pair of leggings feels amazing on the skin, there is this silky feel, shimmer look, and it suits like a glove. I went for a medium size, and it was a perfect fit, hugging my body in the right places, with no saggy or baggy knees, and it felt super comfortable.

Every pair of Pertz leggings comes with a hidden tummy control panel for support and comfort, no bum look, because the quality of the fabric used, will provide a smooth backside, and as for the legs, I love the definition and shape I got in this piece. My legs looked amazing wearing it.
