Product Review: MAC Amber Eyeshadow Palette

I gave away a MAC Amber Eyeshadow Palette  to a lucky winner some weeks ago, and I have finally gotten around to trying my own palette. I love trying new makeup, and I am a huge MAC fan.

MAC – founded in 1984, in Toronto, Canada, has been one of the leaders in the beauty industry for years now. I think majority of their products are great and suit my skin, so I am always keen to try something new from the brand.

If I had an unlimited budget and a bit more space, I would buy a lot more makeup. I have quite a lot of makeup at the moment. I won’t call myself a makeup freak, but I am slowly getting there. I have over 20 lipsticks, so many eyeshadow palettes, foundations and different types makeup, that my Marks and Spencer makeup bag is struggling to contain them all.

I know my makeup is nothing close to what some beauty bloggers have (I know some bloggers with hundreds of lipsticks), but I still think I have a lot! Like I said, I wish I could have some more, but there is space for them. I would literally have to move house to accommodate any more makeup, lol. So for now, all the makeup I own have to be kept in this bag. I am in no mood to call the movers! Our current house may not be our forever home, but I hate moving, so I don’t see us moving house anytime soon. I can see us staying put for a bit.

Back to the MAC Amber Eyeshadow Palette review. Here is the product description:

This well-edited palette features a colour wave of amber hues that offer countless shade combinations. It provides an array of textures from matte to satin to frost for creating a variety of looks for both day and night. The saturated, soft and smooth hues are all packaged in one compact for easy portability.

Here are my thoughts on this palette –

PROS

  1. I love all nine shades. The natural shades suit my skin tone.
  2. The shades are very easy to apply and take off.
  3. The shades are long-lasting, stayed in place all day.
  4. It is a multi-tasking palette. It can take you from day-to-night effortlessly.
  5. It is easily accessible online and in various beauty stores.
  6. Some shades are shimmer, some shades are matte, so there is a shade for everyone.

CONS

  1. The palette is smaller than I expected. I expected the original MAC palette size, but this is smaller.
  2. It is quite pricey at £25 for what you get.

Overall, I do recommend this MAC Amber Eyeshadow palette. I think the shades are beautiful and great for a natural look.

What are your thoughts on this palette? Have you used it before?

Product Review – Serenz Allergy Relief

I suffer from Hay Fever over the spring and summer months, and my symptoms are really horrible. My Hay Fever started last year. I never experienced Hay Fever before then so I found it all weird. I didn’t know anyone in real life who suffered from it (I found them once I started dealing with my symptoms), so it was all new territory for me. At first, I thought it was because we lived on a construction site, and I was reacting to all the dust and building materials around the house. The joys of leaving on a construction site right? That is a blog post for another day. But the good news, at the moment, the construction work around us are almost complete. The last roof went up some days ago, and fences are going up too, so the noise, dust and junk are greatly reduced.

I didn’t think I was going suffer this Spring/Summer, but I was so wrong. I have used all sorts of drugs and eye drops to help me deal with the frustrating symptoms, but I have never really found anything as effective as this Serenz Allergy Nasal Relief.

This Serenz Allergy Nasal Relief has been a life saver. It has helped relieve majority of my Hay Fever symptoms, which is great. I usually dread this time of the year because I suffer so badly, but this spring has been a lot easier thanks to this amazing nasal spray product.

This Serenz Nasal Relief was sent to me last year but I didn’t get a chance to use it until some weeks ago because my Hay Fever symptoms disappeared around the time I received it last year, and I wanted to use it when I needed it.

Here is the product description –

Serenz Nasal Relief is a hand-held nasal irrigator. It uses carbon dioxide to gently wash the nasal passages. It is for use by adults who have conditions such as allergies and are experiencing stuffy, runny or itchy nose or sneezing. It is not a treatment for any specific disease or condition.

Here are my thoughts –

PROS

  1. It is super effective. The itch in my nasal passage, runny nose and sneezing all vanished within minutes of using this.
  2. It is easy to use. The instructions on the leaflet are very clear and easy to understand.
  3. It is portable enough to pop in a little handbag.
  4. It is easy to buy online.

CONS

None at all.

It is reasonably priced at £21.19. I have just placed an order for a new one to come in the next few days.  This Serenz Allergy Nasal Relief has now joined the list of products I swear by. It is the best Hay Fever relief drug out there. Believe that.

What are your thoughts on this product? Do you suffer from Hay Fever? How do you deal with it?

Product Review: Clinique Skincare Products

I love testing out new products and telling you all about it. I am always in pursuit of the next best beauty product, so expect many beauty reviews. I have used a few Clinique products in the past, and I found them good, so I decided to test out a few more, to see if they could become my regulars.

Clinique Deep Comfort Body Butter

This is my first time using a body butter. I have heard quite a lot of good things about body butters in general, so I decided to give this Clinique Deep Comfort Body Butter a try, and I am happy I did. I have been using it for weeks now, and I love it!

Here is the brief product description –

Luxurious, butter rich body cream penetrates dryness prone skin, delivering a new kind of softness to elbows, knees and heels. So silky, skin drinks it up instantly, stays soothed and comforted all day. This body butter softens rough, dry skin and is easily absorbed into skin. Works for all skin types.

Here are my thoughts –

PROS

  1. It is fragrance free.
  2. It is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.
  3. It moisturises the skin perfectly, leaving feeling soft, silky and smooth.
  4. A little goes a long way.
  5. It is easily accessible at Boots, Debenhams, and many beauty stores.
  6. It does not leave the skin oily or greasy.

CONS

  1. It is a bit pricey at £35 for a 350ml jar.

I may be buying this Clinique Deep Comfort Body Butter again because I like it. The only issue for me is that I think it is a bit too expensive for what it is.

Clinique Smart Custom Repair Serum

I got this serum because I love trying face serums, and I am in need of a good, affordable face serum. I have tried a few great ones, but I found them too pricey and was not able to continue using them. And that is how I bumped into this Clinique Smart Custom Repair Serum.

I have been using this serum for weeks now and I have quite a lot to say about it, but first here is the product description –

Here is a custom serum smart enough to understand your skin’s past and change its appearance in the future.

– Addresses the appearance of uneven skin tone, lines and wrinkles, firming, or radiance
– For all ages, all ethnicities
– Five years of research
– Patented technology

Here are my thoughts –

PROS

  1. Small and compact to carry around if needed.
  2. It feels great on the skin. It leaves my skin feeling soft and clean.
  3. A little goes a long way.
  4. Great for all ages and skin tones.
  5. It is fragrance free.
  6. It is easily accessible in most beauty stores like John Lewis, Clinique Website, and many more.

CONS

  1. Too expensive at £49 for a 30ml bottle.
  2. I have not noticed any massive difference on my face, so I am not sure it is doing much if any.

Overall, I know I won’t be buying this serum again.

What do you think of both products? Have you used any of them before?
