Celebrity Fashion: Beyoncé vs Bella Hadid in Givenchy

I featured Bella Hadid this month on the blog. She is the cover girl for Elle UK July issue, and that was my first time placing a name to the face. So I was happy to see her rocking the same outfit with Beyoncé. Both ladies are wearing the same black and silver-beaded Givenchy Fall 2015 Couture two-piece suit, but styled differently.

Beyoncé had hers on at the 2016 CFDA Fashion Awards, held at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, where she won the ‘Fashion Icon’ award. And she styled her suit with a black wide brim hat, a black ruffled high-neck lace top, black peep-toe platform pumps and finished the look with Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Bella Hadid wore her Givenchy suit a month ago at the De Grisogono Cannes party. She styled her suit with a sparkly top and a pair of black Giuseppe Zanotti sandals.

Who do you think wore it better?

I am on the fence with both looks and I can’t seem to decide on which look I prefer. I think Beyoncé would have slayed this outfit if she didn’t have that massive hat on. I am not a fan of hat, I think it is a bit too much.

I love Bella’s look. I think she looks amazing, and those Giuseppe Zanotti sandals have my full attention. They finish up the look nicely. But I am not liking the choker necklace she has on. I think it ruined her look. I would have loved to see her neck bare because the top is so over the top and sparkly, it would have been perfect to have the attention on the top and the suit, but the choker necklace messes that up.

So I can’t decide. A Beyoncé without the hat would have been brilliant, and a Bella without the choker necklace would have been perfect!

Age is nothing but a number they say, but some people never seem age, regardless of how old they are. Jade Pinkett Smith is one of those people. This 44-year-old Style Icon has not aged a bit. She still looks as young as she looked in the 80s. I love Jada’s fashion sense, she has an incredible style. She has a very petite frame, at 5ft,  but she knows how to dress it all up, and make it look very pretty. I love everything about this Style Icon, can you tell?

I have followed and admired Jade Pinkett Smith for as long as I can remember. I remember watching A Different World back in the day, and wanting to be like her. Not to forget her amazing performance in the movie Set It Off. There is something so edgy and captivating about her. I find her intriguing. She is one woman I would love to meet in real life.

Jada slays every time she steps out. She knows what looks on her, and she delivers. I love the way she puts her own unique spin on classic looks, like the outfit above. She wore mismatching earrings to this event. She has on a small earring on the left ear, and a long earring on the right. It is her own way of ensuring her signature look is on every outfit, and it works.

 

Style Icon Image

Apart from her amazing style, Jada Pinkett Smith has one of the most amazing bodies in the whole of Hollywood. Even after having 2 kids, her abs are so firm and well toned, she is so fit.

I have been paying attention to general fitness, and I mentioned I would love to work on my abs in my last sportswear/fitness post, so I went digging into Jada’s fitness routine. She has a strict fitness routine, she is a regular at the gym, and she eats a lot of super foods. I am not surprised she does all these things because her amazing body looks it.

Celebrity Style: Khloe Kardashian vs Lupita Nyong’o in Gucci

Another day, another celebrity style post. Today, it is all about who wore this Gucci floral outfit better? Khloe Kardashian or Lupita Nyong’o? Both ladies are rocking similar versions of the Gucci Spring/Summer 2016 floral piece. Khloe Karadashian has on a Gucci floral shirt dress, styled by celebrity stylist, Monica Rose, while Lupita Nyong’o has on the same shirt plus a matching skirt also by Gucci.

I am on the fence with both looks, I am not quite sure which I prefer, but I know for a fact that I am not a fan of both looks. Khloe was obviously going for a sexier outfit with the messy hair, bare legs and sandals, and it works as she has the body to show off, but if I was to style her, I would pick a different pair of sandals. A simple pair will not compete for attention with the busy floral dress, and the outfit will look more effortless. I will also change the hairstyle, I am not a fan of that at all.

With Lupita, I guess she was going for the full-on floral look, which is very bold and very stylish when styled correctly, but she got this look so wrong. Lupita should have gone for a mini or midi skirt, to show off a bit of skin. This maxi skirt on her looks too dowdy and old-fashioned. She looks like a much older woman dressed like this. A shorter skirt would have looked divine on her. I am not a fan of the pink shoes she has on either. They make her look so frumpy. A pair of black strappy sandals would have looked amazing on her.

I guess if I was forced to pick 1, I would go for Khloe’s look, because it looks easier to re-style. Which look do you prefer and why? Drop me a comment please.
