OOTD: A Textured Dress & A Biker Jacket

Zebra Print Dress Image

So this week’s outfit is featuring some new wardrobe additions, starting with this zebra print textured dress. I found this beauty online, on sale, while doing some ‘window online shopping’, and I knew I had to have it. I am so into dresses at the moment, I find myself wanting to buy them a lot lately for a weird reason. Guess a girl can never have too many dresses, right?

The only issue I have with this dress is, it is a dry clean only piece. I find dry clean only pieces so expensive to own, and I fortunately and unfortunately now have quite a few of them now, so I won’t be buying anymore. Apart from the fact that this dress is a hassle to clean, I love everything else about it, and I will be wearing it for a long time.

I paired this monochrome textured shift dress with this black faux leather jacket, which is also a new wardrobe addition. Remember in my January Fashion Wishlist, I mentioned I needed a leather jacket. Well, I have needed a leather jacket since my last piece – Guess leather jacket, gave up on me some months ago. I originally wanted a 100% real leather jacket but I couldn’t afford it, so faux leather will do for now. They pretty much look the same, leather and faux leather (here is me trying to console myself), don’t they? Whatever…….

I prefer this leather jacket to my previous leather jacket. This is from a petite range, so it has a perfect fit, and I adore the biker look and the gold zip detail. I think it is so cool.

The monochrome flat shoes are also new. I needed a comfy pair to run errands in, and still look good enough for outfit photos, and casual outings, and this ticked all the boxes. My new favourite pair for spring.

OOTD: Back to the Roots

African Skater Skirt Image

Say hello to my first outfit post in the month of April, and it is an ode to my African roots. This skater African print skirt was a gift from my mum. I wore it for the first time some days ago, and I got quite a lot of good compliments from so many people. I guess it caught so many eyes because it is a very colourful, different skirt, just what you need to see on a dull, gloomy day.

Growing up, I wore quite a lot of pieces like this skirt. In fact, half of my wardrobe would consist of african printed skirts, trousers and dresses, and I loved it. You won’t see this skirt or anything like it on the high street, which makes it even more precious.

Every now and again, I will like to mix my African pieces with my regular pieces, and create a very different look, so keep reading Fashion and Style Police, a lot of fashion and style inspiration coming your way.

I found it incredibly easy to style this custom-made skirt. I love seeing lace paired with African prints, maybe because I have seen a lot of lace African outfits over the years. I think they complement each other perfectly so I went for the look, and I think it turned out great.

I am also happy to see spring has finally sprung. How is the weather where you are?

February Fashion Wishlist 2016

February Fashion Wishlist 2016

Hey peeps. Happy new month, welcome to the month of February, the love month. I am happy to see 2016 moving onwards, it felt like we were stuck in January for quite a bit. The January sale is still on in some shops, so get in there and grab a bargain or two, if you haven’t done so already. I love paying half price or less, for an item I would have bought full price. It feels amazing.

This month’s fashion wish list is all about the current pieces and accessories I am lusting after. I have my eye on quite a few, especially some good old jeggings, boots, dresses, some cool bags. So let me take you on an insider journey into what pieces I am currently lusting after.

Phase Eight Jenna Soft Jeggings £55

Phase Eight Jenna Soft Jeggings

When it comes to my denim, I pick quality over quantity, and with quality usually comes a heavier price tag but I rather spend a bit more and have a denim for years, than spend £20, and have  a denim lose its fit after 3 washes. This Phase Eight piece is what I would call a quality pair of jeggings. It looks like it is going to be a perfect fit, and it comes in different colours as well. I would love to get my hands on this beauty.

Next Microfibre Jacket £50

Next Microfibre Jacket

This Next jacket will be perfect for the spring months ahead. I love the simple look, and it comes in regular, tall, and petite as well, which is a plus for us petite women. I am a sucker for petite pieces because they are few and far in between.

Mango Two-tone Cotton Dress £19.99 £9.99

Mango Cotton Dress

This two-tone cotton dress by Mango is currently half price at £9.99. This is what I call a bargain. It can be worn with or without tights, and a pair of chelsea boots. I hope I get my hands on this beauty.

Dorothy Perkins BLK Melonie Rouche Boots £29

Dorothy Perkins Rouche Boots

I love this pair of boots. The 2 inches heel is perfect for days when I can’t be bothered with walking in heels, but still want to look stylish. It will be a nice addition to my wardrobe, and the price tag is quite light as well. I can see myself wearing this with a dress and tights on chilly dress.

Diesel WAYNNEE Crossbody Bag £155

Diesel Waynnee Crossbody Bag

This Diesel WAYNNEE Crossbody bag is so pretty. I love the patchwork denim design, the classic silhouette leaves the bag looking stylish. With the price tag of £155, it may be on the high-end for many, but I say, it is worth every penny.

What do you think of this wish list? Which is your favourite?

Drop me a comment, let’s chat.

Thanks for reading and have a lovely week.
