How to Fight Under Eye Circles and Bags

There are so many beauty problems that we have to deal with on a daily basis as ladies. The dark circles and puffy bags are among them. If left unchecked, they can dull our appearance.
There are a lot of reasons why we have dark under eye circles or eye bags. Lack of sleep, stress, allergies and age are among the common causes. For some, under eye circles and bags are genetic. They were probably born with light or thin under eye skin which makes them look darker underneath the eyes because the collection of blood is more visible.

When trying to fight with skin problems, I try as much as possible to make use of natural remedies because they contain no chemicals and I’m pretty sure my skin will not be damaged in the process. So, here are some ways you can make your under eye circles and bags appear brighter and less puffy.
1.    Cucumber
Cucumbers are a popular natural remedy to under eye circles and bags. The anti-inflammatory properties in cucumber can help reduce eye bags. Place a slice of cucumber on each eye and leave for 25 minutes. This will help soothe your under eyes and reduce puffiness. I aim to do this once a week.
2.    Raw potatoes
Slice a raw potato and place a slice directly on your eyes for 15-20 minutes. Another method is to grate the raw potato and squeeze the juice out of it. Take a cotton ball soak it in the potato juice. Apply the soaked cotton ball over your eyes and leave for 10 minutes. The potato will help reduce the swelling under your eyes and reduce the appearance of the dark circles.  Never underestimate the power of potatoes! I wrote about how potatoes can lighten your underarms some weeks ago. Potatoes have the power like that.
3.    Use a cold press
A cold press can be quite effective in reducing the appearance of dark circles and eye bags. Soak a ball of cotton into a bowl of cold water and apply the cotton ball over your eyes. Let them rest for a couple of minutes. You can also make use of spoons to reduce eye bags. Dip a spoon into the bowl of cold water then press the spoon under your eyes for some minutes. When the spoon grows warmer, dip the spoon back into the bowl of cold water.
4.    Vitamin E oil
Vitamin E oil has been known to do wonders for your skin. It also helps fight dark circles under eyes and reduce swelling under your eyes. In a bowl of cool water, add a couple of drops of vitamin E oil. Soak a ball of cotton into the mixture and leave it for 20 minutes.
5.    Egg whites
Another effective solution to dark circles and eye bags is an egg white mask. It will make the skin under your eyes feel tighter. What you’ll need is to separate the yokes from the whites of 1-2 eggs. Beat the egg whites together until it is stiff. Apply the egg whites under your eyes. You can do this with a brush or you can simply use your fingers. Leave the whipped egg on for 10-20 minutes then wash it off with cold water.
6.    Cold milk
Milk soothes and nourishes your skin. This is what makes it a great remedy for under eye circles and bags. Soak a ball of cotton and apply it on your eyes. Let it rest for 20-30 minutes, and then wash it off. This will help cool the under eye area and improve its appearance.

Have you tried any of these methods before? What are your thoughts?

Life, Style & Shopping

I can’t believe we are in the month of September already. This year is going so fast, isn’t it? August was an extremely busy month for me. I was busy juggling my real life, Fashion and Style Police and my outreach career, which has really taken off. The month was so fast pace, I started to neglect myself a little, and  wrote all about that some days ago. I am happy to say I have started to make some amends in my life.I now have a clear structured day with breaks and all. I have started to take out more time just for myself, I had a lovely spa day earlier this week, and it was magical. I am looking forward to the next one already.

I have also started losing the extra pounds I gained in the last couple of weeks, so I am very pleased with the Youtube work-out video tutorials I have been watching. I am also considering trying another Body Wrap, to step up my fitness routine. I tried a body wrap some months ago, and I have heard so many great things about the Slimming Solutions Wrap being a fab alternative to going to the gym, so I am hoping to try it for myself as soon as I can get my hands on one.

As far as my wardrobe is concerned, I know I did do quite a bit of summer shopping this year, I blame the crazy sweet sales, and I need to go on a spending ban like since last month, lol. But with all the shopping I did, I still need some pairs of Ladies Boots, because you can never have too many boots right? Plus I need to replace some old pairs.

I also didn’t get a single pair of new jeans, and I think I need at least 1 new pair. I like to go for quality when it comes to my jeans because I have realised the more you spend on your jeans, the better it looks and the longer you have it for. I currently have my eye on a few J Brand jeans and I think I need them all in my life, or at least in my wardrobe, if I could afford them all. I am so in love with these two in particular –
