Fashion & Style Police Reviews Accessorize Lovelily Perfume

Hey peeps! Yes it is me; the perfume addict with yet another perfume review post. How would life be without perfumes? I don’t know but I know I won’t cope so well. I tried the amazing Accessorize Lovelily Perfume some weeks ago, and I have been dying to tell you all about it.

It was my first time trying an Accessorize perfume and I am glad I got the opportunity to. I recently write a review of the Monsoon Rose Gold perfume, a sister brand of Accessorize, and that was amazing as well. I am happy to see high street brands stepping in the perfume department.

This fragrance opens with juicy top notes of raspberry and orange, invigorated with a zesty accord of bergamot. At its heart, Muguet (lily of the valley) combined with Jasmine work together to add a fresh and floral depth. Aromatic musks and sweet vanilla are united at the core.

Here are my thoughts on this perfume –

PROS
  1. I like the sweet fruity and vibrant fragrance.
  2. The striking bottle with a flower cap is a beauty. It looks amazing on my dressing table.
  3. It is quite affordable at £19 for a 75ml bottle.
  4. This is a long-lasting fragrance. It stayed on for some hours.
  5. I like the fact that the fragrance is not overpowering.

I can’t fault Accessorize Lovelily because there is absolutely no negative here with this perfume. It looks amazing, very affordable, smells great and looks so beautiful. What is there not to like?

It would make a great Christmas gift as well. So if you are an early bird, and have started your Christmas shopping already, then you should consider getting a perfume lover this fragrance.

My Teeth Whitening Experience

I have always wanted pearly white teeth. Maybe my obsession with having white teeth came from watching too much trashy reality tv. The cast always have very white teeth on those programs. That could be why I am always in the pursuit of extra white teeth.

I know most of these celebs go for teeth whitening with Invisalign. I read that somewhere anyway. However, the treatment option has never been offered to me, and if it is offered, I know I will be turning down. I hear it is a lot of money to get them done and to be honest, I don’t think I need that much work done. Great dental clinics like this Whitby dentist, do offer affordable payment plans for those who need it. So if you are interested in having your teeth whitened, don’t let the price tag scare you. Do your research and find out the best payment plan for your budget.

My Teeth Whitening Experience

I have had my teeth whitened twice now. The first time was in 2012. I had it done at a very posh private clinic and I was very happy with the results. I was given home kits to take away with to use for about 2 weeks. My teeth went many shades whiter! I was so impressed!  For £200, it was money well spent in my eyes! I didn’t have to deal with teeth sensitivity at all, which was great too.

As the years have gone by, with all the eating and drinking. I needed to have a top up session done. So I booked a teeth whitening session with our dentist some months ago. I paid a bit more than £200 this time. I had a teeth whitening session for 1 hour at the clinic, and I was given a teeth whitening kit to use for 3 days at home. However, this experience was so different from my first. I felt the 1 hour teeth whitening session at the dentist was not as effective. There was little or no difference. I didn’t notice any difference but the dentist did.

The home kit given to me was also very difficult to use. It made my teeth so sensitive, I had to stop using it. I didn’t have this issue the first time I had my teeth whitened, so I found this new experience very confusing. It is frustrating that the money spent looks wasted.

I will probably look at having my teeth whitened again in future but I need to be able to see a clear difference.

Have you ever had your teeth whitened before? Were you happy with the results?

10 Ways to Protect your Skin from Winter Dryness

I think we have all experienced the unfortunate occurrence of dry skin in the winter. The cool breeze is constantly blowing on your face and the air is just so dry. Then, you find yourself with a red, chapped, and peeling face. Sometimes, it can seem like this skin mishap is unavoidable, but think again. Here are 10 ways to protect your skin from that unfortunate winter dryness.

Moisturize – all the time

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. We simply cannot express how important it is to moisturize. Your skin needs to be moisturized to stay soft, smooth, healthy, and glowing.

Of course, you probably know that you should always moisturize before putting your makeup on in the morning. But, did you know you should also moisturize after you wash your face at night?

Ideally, you should moisturize twice each day. Keep a bottle of moisturizer close by so you don’t forget.

Choose your moisturizer carefully

But, with all the moisturizing, you need to make sure you select the best product for your skin. Be careful when choosing your moisturizer because some products have ingredients that might actually dry your skin out even more. Go for a smart formula that uses natural and nourishing ingredients.

Use lukewarm water

It can be tempting to wash your face with steaming hot water – it feels good on your skin. But, in the winter, the warm water strips away the oils from your skin.

However, by lowering the temperature just a little bit and using lukewarm water for your shower and to wash your face and hands, you will find that your skin maintains that natural oil it needs to stay soft.

Drink plenty of water

It is easy to get in enough water when it is hot outside, but it becomes difficult when it is cold as we drink more coffee and tea. But, don’t forget that your skin needs hydration from the inside too – not just from the outside like it gets through moisturizing.

Hydrate through various methods

In addition to drinking plenty of water, you should also practice other ways of hydrating from the inside, out. During the winter, focus on eating foods high in water content such as vegetables like cucumbers and tomato.

Use DIY masks

Aside from moisturizing, another great way to ensure your skin is getting enough hydration is to use homemade masks during the winter months.
Most DIY masks use household items that are great for naturally moisturizing the skin and providing it with nutrients to protect it from the dry air.

Exfoliate

Don’t forget that getting rid of dead skin cells is another important step to protecting your skin from the dry winter air. Once you exfoliate, follow immediately with your chosen moisturizer.

Protect your skin

Taking preventative measures like moisturizing and hydrating your skin are great ways to avoid dry skin in the winter. But, another sure-fire way to avoid dry skin is to protect your skin by covering it up using gloves, hats, and scarves.

Humidify your home

While the air might be dry outside, you likely don’t think about how dry it also gets in your home. Having the heater on inside dries the air out even further – leading to more dry skin.

To help prevent this, add a humidifier to your home to moisturize the air a little bit while still keeping your home warm.

Change your cleanser

Cleansers can be one of the main reasons you experience dry skin. During the winter months, look for a cleanser that is hydrating and provides more moisturizer than your typical cleanser.

It will be much less frustrating to take care of your skin from the beginning rather than trying to fix it once it is already dried out.

By following these few simple tips, you can be on your way to moisturized skin – even in the winter!
