Fashion – What I Wore on my Birthday

Hey fashion lovers! I finally got around to publishing my birthday outfit post. Whoop Whoop! For those who do not know, it was my birthday a few days ago. I turned 31 and I posed for some outfit photos. As a fashion blogger, I was planning to go all out on my birthday, and rock a super glam outfit, but then life happened and I couldn’t.

Like I mentioned in previous posts, I was not feeling well for the whole of last week. I was battling a terrible cold and was too drained to be in the party mood. So I didn’t really make any birthday plans. Which means no birthday outfit was decided until the last minute. I decided to style up some of my birthday gifts, and I am happy I did just that. It made my day even more special.

Everything I had on except the sleeveless blazer and bag, was a birthday present. I receive a couple gifts from my loved ones a few days to my birthday, so I decided to style them together for my big day. The look worked so well. I felt super comfy and warm, which was good as it was a very cold day.

I remember growing up as kid, birthdays was a big deal for me, and it still is. The whole idea of having my own special day, and being bombarded with birthday wishes and presents always puts a smile on my face. And I am certain it is the same for many. Birthdays are still a big deal for me, even as an adult. I appreciate every new year (even though I am growing older 😃) and what each year brings to me.

What I Did on my Birthday

It was my birthday last weekend. I have started exploring the thirties and am loving it. The annoying cold I had didn’t allow me enjoy my birthday as much as I would have loved too, but I am made the most of the day as the Birthday Girl.

What I Did on my Birthday

My birthday started off with a bit of rain and snow, which I called showers of blessings. I had the privilege of watching the snow fall from the comfort of my bedroom window.

After watching the snow fall for sometime, I dragged myself out of bed to get ready for my big day. Then it was time to cut the cake and get some photos taken. The kiddies had to join in the fun of course. I really liked my birthday cake. It was so yummy and looked so good! Happy the baker got the design I had in my head.

I am not much of a sweet tooth, so I rather go all out on cakes, chocolates and the sweet foodies. That is the reason why I went for an extra small cake. Besides we had a lot of cake over the Christmas period. There was no room for more.

I spent the rest of the day with the family. We had a yummy lunch at a Chinese restaurant. Did a bit of shopping and enjoyed the rest of the day indoors. It was a different kind of birthday. It was very chilled and relaxed, thanks to me not feeling so good, but I enjoyed it.

4 signs it’s time to visit the hairdresser

Your hair is one of the first things that people notice about you, but winter weather, styling treatments and split ends can make good hair days a thing of the past. Recent research has shown that a whopping 49% of us haven’t visited a hairdresser in the past year. Looking after your hair at home is a great way to save money, but can leave your hair unhappy. The haircare experts at Crown Clinic have put together their advice for signs to look out for that mean it’s time for you to visit the professionals. Read on to find out more.

Your hair is limp and lifeless

Hair looking limp and lifeless is a key sign that it needs some looking after from a professional. If you use lots of intense conditioning treatments, or dry shampoo is your best friend on no wash days, these can all leave your hair looking less than its best.

Your hairdresser will able to give you top tips to get your lacklustre locks back on top form in no time.

Drying takes forever

If it’s been a while since you last went to the salon, you’ll probably notice that your hair takes longer to dry. If you use a hairdryer, this extra heat won’t be doing your hair any good, and may lead to damage and split ends. Ask your hairdresser to take some weight out of your hair with layers and thinning techniques, and you’ll be feeling light and bouncy again in no time.

You have split ends

Split ends are the number one enemy of a good hair day. They can make your hair frizzy, dry and brittle. The best way to get rid of split ends is to chop them off, but your hairdresser will be able to give you top tips to keep them at bay in the future. Intense conditioning treatments, avoiding heat, and staying hydrated can all help to stop split ends forming.

The haircare experts will be able to give your hair the cut and TLC it needs to get back to its shiny, bouncy best.

These signs will help you to know when it’s time to visit the hairdresser, and get your hair back on top form in no time at all.
