How to Lose the Belly Fat

For many of us, once we pop a kid or 2, our belly never goes back to how it was pre pregnancy. We usually develop a bulge we hide under the girdle. Sexy bikinis and crop tops becomes a thing of the past! We can’t be caught wearing them! Pregnancy changes our bodies in so many ways, and for the most of us, it is hard to accept the new mummy body. I remember how hard I found it in the early days. I lost the pregnancy weight quite quickly but I didn’t lose the belly fat that quickly. It stayed with me, along with the stretch marks to serve like a form of reminder I guess.

So I had to step up my exercise game to get rid of the fat that needed to go, and thankfully, it disappeared after some time. I am still working on my body, and with the help of GymCube – online fitness and nutrition website, that provides live online exercise classes daily and online coaching, I am getting there. I will be updating you on my fitness journey next week, so look out for that post.

How to Lose the Belly Fat

As mothers, we experience all sorts of body changes. This is why I am so passionate about this CoolSculpting treatment. I wish I had the opportunity to have this treatment back then. I would have taken it with both hands.

For those who have never heard of the CoolSculpting treatment, it is a treatment uses the fat freezing technology of Cryolipolysis. It is an effective way of getting rid of fat cells without the need for surgery or needles.

Here is a video with a bit more information on the CoolSculpting treatment carried at Pulse Light Clinic London.

The CoolSculpting treatment can be carried out on the bum, chin, thighs, and back as well as on the belly. I love the sound of the treatment. The fact that you no longer have to go under the knife to lose the belly fat, and fat in other areas is amazing. It is also good to know you can carry out your daily activities immediately after this treatment.

I am happy with how advanced technology is going. Good to know there is now a non-surgical treatment that helps us lose the belly fat. You can contact Pulse Light Clinic for more information on this treatment. You can find them at –

Why spa treatments are good for you

If I had an unlimited budget, I would go for a spa treatment every weekend. The feeling I get after a good massage and facial is so amazing. A good spa treatment relaxes me, and gets me ready for whatever lies ahead. I don’t have as many spa treatments as I would want to but I try to book a treatment once a month most times.

I am always on the lookout for spas with deals and offers. I recently came across The Moroccan Spa marocMaroc at Urban Retreat, and I like the sound of the treatments offered. I will be exploring them further.

There are so many health and beauty benefits of spa treatments. So if you are thinking of treating yourself to a lovely spa treatment this autumn/winter, here are some reasons why you should go for it.

A good massage helps with circulation and decrease inflammation

A good massage has the power to calm you down and keep you relaxed, free from aches and pains. A good massage also improves blood flow throughout the body and general cardiovascular health. A good massage also helps boast a healthier immune system.

It helps the heart

The essential oils used in spa treatments does more than soothing and relaxing. Research has proven that the effects of a brief exposure to essential oils can also benefit the heart. It was also found to reduce blood pressure and the heart rate. However, research has also shown that the downside is after an hour of exposure to essential oils, people’s hearts begin to rebel and climb up again. So best to stick to an hour-long massage with lavender oil.

Soothes the aches and pains

Most of us are aware of this benefit, and this is one of the main reasons why I have regular spa treatments. A good massage soothes all my aches and a pains. As a busy working mum of 2, I am usually complaining of a back pain by the end of a crazy week. So having a massage session booked after a crazy week is usually the best thing ever!

Spa treatments are a bit of pampering

Sometimes in the middle of life’s hustle and bustle, we just need to sit back and let someone else do the pampering. That is also the main reason why I enjoy staying over at hotels and eating out. I am forever caring for and meeting the needs of others, so to be on the receiving end is amazing for my mental health.

Self-care is essential, and  we should take it more seriously. Spa treatments are a good way to get a bit of pampering. It is a great way of getting taken care of that is psychologically and culturally acceptable, and we can carry that feeling of being cared for with us for a period of time. Which would help us better with stress in the long run.

When last did you have a spa treatment? I know I am badly in need of 1.

Why Vitamin C is Good for Hair and Skin

Vitamin C, also known as L-ascorbic acid, has many amazing and potent benefits for your health in general. It is said to improve your immune system, healthy heart function and even prevents cancer. Although it is readily available, there are so many people who still suffer from Vitamin C deficiencies which may lead to symptoms like nosebleeds, bleeding gums and a weak immune system among others.

I did some more research and I found out that this vitamin does wonders to your skin and hair. It is an antioxidant and it also contains properties that help in boosting collagen production in the skin. Which means it helps in promoting skin elasticity, thus helping to minimize the presence of fine lines and wrinkles on your face. It also helps in boosting collagen production in our hair, which is very important for the growth and health of the hair.

Since this vitamin is beneficial for the skin and hair, then we need to make sure we take get enough of it. Here are 3 ways to do so.

Use the right beauty products

Using the right beauty products for our skin and hair helps. It is best to shop around to find the best products for your skin and hair type. Vitamin C hair products are great in removing mineral buildup accumulated on the surface of the hair. So look out for shampoos that include it.

Vitamin C serums are also available to promote thick hair, get rid of dandruff and improve hair growth. So shop around to find the right serums. Beauty stores like Capital Hair and Beauty stock hair and skin products from various brands.

Take more fresh fruits and vegetables that are high in Vitamin C

Eating or in some cases drinking Vitamin C rich foods is one of the easiest and most common ways to enjoy the benefits.

Citrus fruits like lemon, orange, grapefruit and lime are rich in Vitamin C. Dark leafy greens like spinach, kale and turnip greens make a really good source as well. So does Broccoli, cauliflower, and tomatoes.

Apply Vitamin C rich fruits topically

You don’t only get the benefit of Vitamin C on your skin from the fruits and vegetables you eat, you can also derive those benefits by topically applying them on your skin. Applying the juice of fruits high in Vitamin C, like the citrus fruits and tomatoes, directly on your skin can do wonders.

The juice of some citrus fruits, most especially lemon or lime, can be a little too harsh for sensitive skin. If you have sensitive skin, then the best way you can go about it is to mix a little water to the juice before applying it on your skin. Once you’ve applied the juice on your skin, leave it to dry for about 20-30 minutes then wash off with cold water and pat your face dry.

The Vitamin C in the juice makes the skin glow. If you were suffering from acne, the juice helps to reduce the inflammation and heal the cuts caused from a burst pimple.

These are just some of the benefits of Vitamin C for the skin and hair. Do you have any tips to share? Please drop them in the comments section below. Thanks for stopping by.
