Have a Very Merry Christmas

Hey peeps. So I am officially signing off Fashion and Style Police and all my other freelance jobs today. I will be off work for a few days to enjoy the festivities. It has been a very busy year for me. And the last couple of weeks have been even more busy with me trying to round off work, while getting my household ready for the. I have been dying to get some rest, so I am happy the time has now come. I hope you all have a very merry Christmas. Take some time to relax and reflect. And make sure you make plans for 2018.

Christmas is my favourite time of the year. I am seriously looking forward to spending some quality time with family members. And not have to worry about anything going on online. I want to be offline as much as possible and to be present to enjoy the season. It is the most wonderful time of the year.

I am also looking forward to the Boxing Day sales. The sales are usually so good so I am hoping I get good deals this year. I will be doing majority of my shopping online but I will also be popping into some stores to grab some bargains. I have a few stores in mind already. Will you be shopping this Boxing Day sales?

So here is me wishing you a very merry Christmas and a prosperous new year. Have a wonderful holiday. Remember the reason for the season. And be kind to someone today. Sometimes, the best gift you could give is a hug.

The Meaning of Christmas

You can feel the excitement in the air as Christmas draws nearer. Christmas trees are set up, your reindeer is likely out, everywhere is beautifully decorated with lights and there is a wreath on almost every door. There are excited shoppers buying gifts for their friends and family, and kids going off to see Santa.

When you take a step back from the beauty and joy of Christmas, there’s a question that lingers, “What is it about Christmas that has such a great effect on so many people?” The Christmas season is a magical season, but hidden within the cheer of Christmas is an amazing and inspiring meaning:

  1. Christmas is a season of love

Although Valentine’s Day is associated with love, Christmas takes the meaning of love a little further. Christmas is a time when people show love to everyone around them, not only to their partners or spouses, but also to family, friends and neighbours.

The spirit of love is shown from the gifts they share. Those gifts are tokens of care, affection and oneness. Christmas is the time when you can reach out to others who are alone, sad or in need of some company. It is the time when people share the cheer of Christmas.

  1. Christmas is a season to take time off to reflect and plan for the New Year

In the midst of the cheer and excitement, exchange of gifts and delicious food, Christmas is a time when we reflect on our lives. It’s a time to reflect and meditate on the essence of life. Life is all about sharing, helping one another, and making people smile. It’s about giving meaning to those who feel that there’s nothing left in life for them.

Christmas is also a time to reflect on what true happiness is all about. Happiness is not hidden in material things but it’s hidden in the heart that shares and gives happiness.

All this will helps plan for the New Year so that we can make a good start of the year with renewed enthusiasm, confidence and meaning. This is the time to set out your new year’s resolution (if you are into resolutions) and set up an action plan to make sure the new year is a success.

  1. Christmas is about appreciating the special gift of Christ

Christ is the reason for the season, and we should not forget that. Through Jesus Christ we were given salvation and a renewed hope.

Sometimes we are weighed down by problems, temptations, and challenges. There are times when we feel alone and lost. But once there is life, there is hope.

  1. Christmas is about enjoying family time

The beauty of Christmas is the fact that you get to enjoy the season with your loved ones. Those precious moments with your family seated around the table enjoying a yummy Christmas meal, with Christmas carols playing in the background, and opening presents under the Christmas tree. I think is one of the best times ever.

I will be taking a break starting today to enjoy the season. I am off on holiday {whoop whoop} and I am really looking forward to it. I will be sharing shots on Instagram and Twitter, so keep up with me on those platforms. And I shall return with a new post in the next few days.

Have a very merry Christmas xo

OOTD: Happy Holidays

Merry Christmas

Wow I can’t believe it is Christmas Eve today. This year has gone by super fast, in a good way. It has definitely been the best blogging year ever for Fashion and Style Police, and I am hoping 2016 is even better. I have so many blog projects I am working on at the moment, I don’t want to reveal too much, but it is going to be worth reading and maybe watching, crossing my fingers and toes.

Happy Holidays

As for the bright sunny photos I have here, the sun came out some days ago, and it was kind of a BIG deal, since it hardly comes out these days. I made good use of the opportunity and got some outfit pictures taken. Who knows when next I would be this lucky to have good weather, and be outfit ready at the same time. How has the weather been where you are?

I will be taking a well needed break over Christmas, so you should expect my next post to be on or around the 28th. I need the time off to relax with my family and enjoy the festive season, and I am so looking forward to eating, relaxing and doing NOTHING. I need to recharge my batteries, lol, it has been a crazily busy year.

Luxemme Outfit

Luxemme Jumper

As for this jumper, it is an Abella Luxe Chunky Knitted Jumper by Luxemme. I love the distressed look of an otherwise classic jumper, it gives a more edgy look, and the colour is so beautiful. I styled it with a pair of black leggings and cami, and knee-high boots, and I think I nailed the shabby chic look I was going for. Do you agree?

Pandora Earrings

As for accessories, I decided to keep it simple with this stunning Pandora stud earrings, sunnies of course, a scarf, and my Fitbit bracelet. I love the overall look, and I will be wearing the life out of this jumper this season.
