OOTD: Casual Day Wear Look

Casual Daywear Style Image

I like the casual day wear trend especially in the summer. Most times, I find it too warm to look all dressed up so I settle for the casual day wear look and it suits my lifestyle just fine. Here are some tips to have in mind when experimenting with the casual day wear look:

Go for Quality

I always go for quality but I pay special attention to my casual day wear pieces because I wear them a lot. Cheap fabrics will fall apart quickly in my hands so I go for the best I can afford every time.

Dresses at the Ready

A dress is  a great all-purpose, wear anywhere, anytime outfit, so invest wisely. Go for jersey fabrics, they drape beautifully, feel good and will flatter almost every figure.

Accessorise Smart

Don’t go overboard with big sparkly jewellery with casual day wear pieces. It would look too much. Keep the accessories small and understated so you look effortlessly chic. A simple scarf, sunglasses, a small bracelet or necklace would do if necessary.

Shop Smart

Don’t just buy clothes or accessories because you like them. Have a plan for every piece you buy. Make sure anything new fills a hole in your wardrobe, in this case, your casual day wear section. This wear you are building a capsule wardrobe, and you will never run out of what to wear.

Look Cool

Look cool, casual and trendy this summer by teaming a nice floral dress with flip-flops or sandals like I have done here. This look ensures you stay cool in the heat, and it is so easy to style. As long as your dress is groomed, this look works.

Go for a Perfect Fit

Casual day wear does not mean baggy or loose. Go for pieces that suit your body shape. If you rather have a track suit or an oversize top, ensure you balance the look with a pair of skinny jeans, a belt and heels.

Celebrity Style: Cara Delevingne in Anthony Vaccarello

CaraDelevingneSuicideSquadWorldPremiere-anthony-vaccarello-2-900x1200

Hey peoples. New month means new celebrity style post. I really tried to feature a ‘YAY or NAY’ post last month, but I couldn’t squeeze it in. So this is me making sure I publish a celebrity fashion post this month, by posting it on the 4th day of August. Say hello to the beautiful Cara Delevingne. She was spotted at the Suicide Squad New York, rocking this Anthony Vaccarello Black Studded and Perforated Black Suede Dress.

Now this right here is what I call a very bold look. Many of us won’t even dare pull this off but Cara is daring and that is what I admire most about her. Having said that, I am not sure I admire this look. I don’t think I like it to be honest. I love the bold eye makeup and the bright red lips, and her hair looks great, but paired with his outfit, the entire look does not work for me. It’s a bit too much.

I would have preferred to see her rocking this eye-popping dress with a pair of shoes, sandals or ankle boots rather than this thigh high boots. I would have also preferred to see her with a mild makeup and simple hair-do as opposed to this full-on look she has on, if that makes sense.

I like the way the Anthony Vaccarello model below styled hers, and I prefer her look. I can see more of the dress this way –

This Anthony Vaccarello dress is well over £2,000, so it is not budget-friendly at all, but if you like, I am sure you can get cheaper similar alternatives.

What do you think of Cara Delevingne’s look? Is it a YAY or a NAY? Sound off in the comment section please.

Thanks for reading and have a fabulous day.

Product Review: RITUALS Blossom Water Cherry Blossom

Light bed & body mist Image

I got this RITUALS Blossom Water Cherry Blossom bed and body mist while holidaying in Amsterdam some weeks ago. While exploring the busy city, my eyes fell on a RITUALS store, and before I knew it, I was walking out with this mist in a bag.

This bed and body mist is my first RITUAL product ever, and this is also the first time I am using a bed and body mist. I have used it for weeks now, and I am very impressed.

Here is what RITUALS has to say about this Blossom Water Cherry Blossom mist:

With the relaxing scent of young Cherry Blossom gently covers your skin with a fine dew

Gives the skin a refreshing feeling
The cherry blossom, ‘Sakura’, lends its name to a princess from long, long ago who was called Kono- Hane-Sakuya-Hime (blossoming-tree-blossom-princess). The legend tells that she was given this long name after she had fallen from heaven and landed right on top of a cherry tree. Since then cherry blossom has been regarded by the Japanese as a symbol of happiness, love and the annual start of nature’s reawakening.

Here are my thoughts:

PROS

  1. It smells AMAZING!!!
  2. It is so long-lasting on the skin and on the sheets.
  3. I like the sleek packaging.
  4. I like the fact it is a body and a bed mist.
  5. My bedding smells so good; I drift off to sleep so easily.
  6. It is quite affordable at £16.50 for a 50ml bottle.

CONS

None. This mist is seriously amazing. It is the best body mist I have ever used in my life. I can see myself struggling to use my regular body mists now that I have tried this RITUALS Blossom Water Cherry Blossom mist. I am sold..

Have you tried this body and bed mist? What are your thoughts on this product?
