OOTD: One Spring Day

I am loving the cool spring weather at the moment. The weather is no longer painfully cold, so my bare legs are out for as long as possible. How are you enjoying spring? Has spring sprung where you are at?

I love wearing dresses in the spring/summer months, I guess that is due to the fact that I have been stuck in heavy coats, jeans and tights all through winter. I find dresses comfortable and easy to style.

Take this black dress I have on for example; all I had to do was to throw on a few accessories and I was good to go. That is the beauty of a little black dress, it never goes out of style, and it is dead easy to dress up.

This black embroidery smock dress is a new wardrobe addition; I got it some few weeks ago. I love the floral embroidery detail a lot. It is a perfect piece, and it is great for transitioning from winter to spring (just pop on a blazer and a pair of tights if you need one), and from day-to-night (with a change of accessories).

“I’ve always thought of accessories as the exclamation point of a woman’s outfit.” -Michael Kors.

I saw this quote online some days ago and it hit the nail on the head, with regards to the major role accessories play in an overall look. I think accessories are very important; they determine how good or bad an outfit would turn out, so I like to pay my accessories special attention, even more than my pieces.

Sienna Miller Covers Harper’s Bazaar Magazine UK April 2017

Sienna Miller is on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar Magazine UK April 2017, and she looks fab on it.

Sienna wears Burberry dress and cape with Harry Winston and Tiffany & Co jewellery on the newsstand cover, photographed by Alexi Lubormirski and styled by Leith Clark.

I am a huge fan of Harper’s Bazaar magazine covers, I think they stand out on the newsstands for the right reasons, and they always look so good. This cover right here is no exception, I love everything about it, Sienna Miller looks so pretty.

In her interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Sienna talks about her life, family and career. Here are so excerpts from the interview –

Why she moved to New York

‘I just like the idea that you come to New York and you do something. London was all gorgeous and great, but I’m really trying to kick myself up the ass in some way, and New York is very good at doing that.’

On her ex-partner – Tom Sturridge

‘We still love each other,’ she explains. ‘I think in a break-up somebody has to be a little bit cruel in order for it to be traditional, but it’s not been acrimonious in a way where you would choose to not be around that person. We don’t live together, as has been reported recently, but we do half the time. Everybody will stay over or we’ll all go on holiday and that’s because we genuinely want to be around each other. It’s great for our daughter that she has two parents who love each other and are friends. He’s definitely my best friend in the entire world.’

Sienna wears Simone Rocha dress with Jimmy Choo shoes and Chanel fine jewellery

I love this shot so much. It looks heavenly; so out of this world!

What do you think of this Harper’s Bazaar cover? I would love to read it. Will you be reading?

Product Review: MAC Prep + Prime Lip Base and Clarins Exfoliating Cleanser

I have used both the MAC Prep + Prime Lip Base and Clarins One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser with Orange Extract for some time now, and I think they are worth writing about.

MAC Prep + Prime Lip Base

I apply this MAC Prep + Prime Lip Base first before applying my lipstick. I have used it for years now, and I think it is one of the best lip primers at the moment.

Here is the product description –

A colour-free lipstick base that adds light moisture, smoothes and refines the lips. Improves the appearance of the applied lip products.

PROS

  1. My lips tend to get really dry, this moisturises my lips perfectly!
  2. My lipstick stays on all day without needing a top up, and without cracks, thanks to this fab lip base.
  3. It can be used alone as a lip balm.
  4. It has a lovely texture and smells good too.
  5. A little is all that is needed.
  6. I like the compact size, so easy to pop in a small bag.
  7. It is available to buy at many beauty shops for £14.

CONS

None.

I can’t fault this product at all. I recommended to anyone dealing with dry lips, or struggling to apply matte lipsticks. This MAC Prep + Prime Lip Base is all you need.

Clarins One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser with Orange Extract

I use this Clarins One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser once a week, and I have done so for a few weeks now.

Here is the product description –

The Clarins One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser with Orange Extract is a spa-fresh exfoliating facial cleanser that polishes-away make-up, embedded impurities and spent surface cells in one time-saving step to reveal the glowing skin beneath. The bi-phase scrub both cleanses and exfoliates, gently removing everything that makes the skin look dull, leaving the skin smooth, soft and luminous. Orange extract works to soften, refresh and revive. Moringa Seed extract, with anti-pollution benefits, purifies and refines the skin and helps to restore its natural radiance. Gentle Silica Microbeads tackle clogged pores, exfoliate and renew. The exfoliating scrub leaves skin comfortable and ultimately refreshed. Suitable for all skin types.

PROS

  1. I love the compact packaging.
  2. It smells amazing, I could sniff the orange scent all day.
  3. It is a great multi-tasking product – Cleansing and Exfoliating at the same time.
  4. It is great for all skin types.
  5. It is easily available to buy at many beauty shops for £21 for a 100ml.
  6. It leaves my skin feeling soft, smooth and clean.
  7. You only need a small amount, a little goes a long way.

CONS

  1. It stings the eyes if they come in contact, so do not apply around the eye area.

I love this Clarins One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser. I love how it makes my skin glow. I do recommend it and I can see myself using this product for many years to come.
