OOTD: Hello March

OOTD: Hello March

Charlotte's Web Top Image

Hello everyone. Happy new month. Welcome to March. I can’t believe I blogged  everyday, sometimes twice a day in February. I hope to carry on doing the same for the rest of the year. It is a bit hard to come up with a new post everyday not to mention twice a day, but I am not complaining.  I enjoy blogging.

To kick off the new month, I have an outfit post for you and it is all about this Charlotte’s Web Recycled Brocade Sari top. I received this beauty some weeks ago and I have finally got around to wearing it. I was so inspired by Moji from Moj In Touch, she wore a similar piece some days ago, and her post opened my eyes to how best to style this piece. Check out her cool fashion blog if you haven’t already.

This sari top comes in various colours – red, black, gold green, purple pattern, pink and orange, red cherry and more colours, so there should be a colour for everyone. It is called a ‘jacket’ on the online site, but I wore my as a top. I couldn’t picture this piece looking as good if I wore it as a jacket, so I didn’t.

I wore mine with blue skinny jeans, heels, clutch bag and good old sunnies. Leggings will also look amazing paired with this piece.

All saris are lovingly hand-picked in India by Charlotte, the designer. Once the saris have all been selected, then it is over to the tailors to create each unique, beautiful piece. I love the fact that every piece is totally unique, I won’t find any other sari that is exactly the same as mine and that feels good. Makes this beauty even more special.

Autumn Lipstick Swatches & Reviews

Makeup

It should come as no surprise that all the lipsticks featured in this post are MAC. I think most of their products are great, and my makeup bag is a living proof of that. I will be test the waters and try other popular beauty brands I have not had the privilege of trying like Urban Decay, Charlotte Tilbury, NARS and the rest.

With the weather getting colder, and the nights getting longer, this is a perfect time to introduce some dark tones to your makeup. I use a change in season as an excuse to shop who doesn’t, so I have gone all out to update my makeup bag and its contents. Here are the MAC lipsticks in my collection for Autumn:

Ruby Woo

Ruby Woo Swatch

This is one of my favourite lipstick shades. It is a perfect shade of red, great for a night out or day time, and it looks amazing on me, and every other lip I have seen wearing it. It shines beautifully in pictures, so you will usually catch me photographed, wearing this amazing lipstick. It is also long-lasting, stays on for hours, I can’t fault this lipstick.

Ruby Woo

I think every woman should have a Ruby Woo lipstick. It is not the best-selling lipstick for no reason.

Pink Nouveau

MAC Pink Nouveau

This bright Barbie pink lipstick is the least favourite of all my MAC lipsticks. I don’t like the shade on me, not sure what I was thinking when I bought it. It has a satin finish, and it is too young, too girly.

Pink Nouveau

All I will say is, try this lipstick or any other lipstick on your lips BEFORE you buy. The swatches do not give you a good idea of how it would look like on your lips. Your lips and your skin are very different, trust me, I learnt the hard way.  I wish I could return it, but since I can’t, it will just remain one of those lipsticks that hardly get used.

MAC Film Noir

Film Noir

This Film Noir lipstick is another case of me not knowing what I was thinking when I bought it.  I wanted a dark/chocolate shade for the autumn/winter months, and I thought this would look good on my lips but I was so wrong. It looked amazing when I swatched it on my arm, by when I tried it on at home, I knew I had made a big fat mistake.

MAC Film Noir

This satin Film Noir is way too dark (another satin lipstick I don’t like, think I am a matte kind of girl), it doesn’t stay on well, even after using a lip primer and after blotting. I also found it quite patchy, not sure what I would do with this, the search of the perfect dark lipstick continues…….

MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus

Viva Glam Swatch

This Viva Glam Miley Cyrus shade is my favourite lipstick at the moment. At first, I wasn’t too sure about it, but the more I used it, the deeper I fell in love with it. It has a matter finish but looks glossy, which I love, I also the hot pink colour, perfect for day and night, and it is so long-lasting.

Viva Glam 1

I get loads of compliments when I wear this lipstick .I love it.

MAC Lipsticks

I have realised I prefer lipsticks with a matte finish so I will be getting more of these type of lipsticks.

Have you tried any of these lipsticks before? What are your thoughts? Drop me a comment, let’s chat.

Beauty Muse – Eku Edewor

The British/Nigerian TV presenter, model, actress – Eku Edewor is the Beauty Muse of the week.

Eku-Edewor-Makeup

Eku Edewor is a stunner, her makeup is always perfect, her skin glows in dark, she is always looking radiant, her facial features are out of this world, she is all shades of beautiful. She is the Real Deal.

I remember watching a video of her some months where she shared her skincare routine and stripped all her makeup off and she still looked flawless.

Here is the video below:

Eku+Edewor-110

I have always wanted to know what her beauty routine was like and I found it. Here is her full beauty routine culled from an interview with Into The Gloss:

I’ve tried every beauty product ever. I’m not really one of those people who sticks specifically to a brand, but I’ve used everything from Dermalogica, to Liz Earle, to Eve Lom—I find that changing it up helps my skin. But I have favorite moisturizers: I love Kiehl’s, the classic facial moisturizer, and I use that as a night cream as opposed to a day cream because I’ve got oily skin. I use a lot of Becca makeup—they originally started in Australia, but they’ve now gained traction in London. They’re beautiful, beautiful makeup products, and that’s the only makeup I wear on my face.

This lipstick is YSL Rouge Volupté. I have a few of these colors, ‘cause they’re just so great. They’re beautiful-looking, as well; they’re a great little accessory. Lipsticks are my favorite thing in makeup. So, I wear a lot of MAC, ‘cause obviously MAC has hundreds of colors. There’s a color, So Chaud, which is an orange red, that I’m really into right now because it’s more modern than a classic red. I mean, I think everyone has a Ruby Woo somewhere in their makeup bag. I also like the Russian Red and the classic MAC Red, but the So Chaud has a lot of orange in there.

I agree with her, I think every woman should have a Ruby Woo lipstick in their makeup bag if they don’t already have one. MAC does amazing lipsticks and you are sure to find colours to love in their large lipstick collection but the Ruby Woo is the boss in my eyes for now.
