OOTD: The Show Must Go On

The first half of 2016 is over. And usually around this time of the year, I like to reflect on how my year has been so far. So I know if I am heading in the right direction or not. I am a bit of an organised freak, so I like to keep an eye on any aspect of my life. 2016 has been fab to be honest. My family and friends are well. I am well. The summer weather has been great in the last couple of days, although I am still suffering from hay fever, and it got worse last weekend, but I am hoping to be free of it very soon, crossing my fingers, and my toes.

Fashion and Style Police is growing and my income reports are also looking good, which is fab. This blog started as a hobby, then became a part-time job, and is now a full-time job. I even have a lovely lady working with me to keep this blog alive and kicking, so I am happy I am reaping the fruits of my labour, and all my efforts have not been in vain.

My Book – How to Cash In as a Blogger is also a bit popular on Amazon (please leave me a review on Amazon if you haven’t done so already), so I feel extremely blessed.

Overall, the first half of the year has been fantastic, and I am raising my glass to the second half of the year, hoping it is even better.

Now over to this outfit. I wore this outfit some days ago. We were visiting friends and family in another city and I wanted a simple/casual outfit, so I went for this. I also had on this gorgeous rose gold Grand Classic Michelle Keegan Coin Necklace by Sparkling Jewellery, and it got a lot of attention. It is a fine delicate necklace, and the coin design makes it even more beautiful and special. Plus in came in my favourite shade of gold – Rose Gold.

I fell in love with this necklace as soon as I laid eyes on it. It came in a very cute package, it was impossible to not fall in love. It retails for only £35, which I find very affordable. How is the weather at your end? My end has been fab. I am loving the sunshine, I can feel summer approaching, and it is getting me in the mood for a holiday. Thomas Cook has some amazing deals on at the moment, with offers like £100 off a Las Vegas trip, £150 off a return trip to Orlando Florida, and many other cool offers. I think it is fair to say I deserve a proper outside the UK holiday, so I will be looking into booking a holiday soon. Speaking of holidays, have you got any planned for the rest of the year?

Now back to this outfit, I got this monochrome short sleeve T-shirt dress some months ago. It is one of the spring/summer newbies in my wardrobe, and I have worn it quite a few times already. It is one of those tops, you can dress up and down easily, which makes it one of my favourites at the moment. On lazy days, when I can’t think, I can just throw it up with a pair of leggings/jeggings and flats, and I am a good to go. You need everyday pieces like this in your wardrobe, they make life a lot easier some days.

I can see myself adding a few pieces and accessories here and there, but overall, I am ready to step out in style this seasosn, lol..Someone may need to hide my bank cards though, just to make sure I don’t do anymore shopping, lol, just kidding..

OOTD: Back to the Roots

African Skater Skirt Image

Say hello to my first outfit post in the month of April, and it is an ode to my African roots. This skater African print skirt was a gift from my mum. I wore it for the first time some days ago, and I got quite a lot of good compliments from so many people. I guess it caught so many eyes because it is a very colourful, different skirt, just what you need to see on a dull, gloomy day.

Growing up, I wore quite a lot of pieces like this skirt. In fact, half of my wardrobe would consist of african printed skirts, trousers and dresses, and I loved it. You won’t see this skirt or anything like it on the high street, which makes it even more precious.

I found it incredibly easy to style this custom-made skirt. I love seeing lace paired with African prints, maybe because I have seen a lot of lace African outfits over the years. I think they complement each other perfectly so I went for the look, and I think it turned out great.
