Product Review: Earth Kiss Face Masks

I have been on the lookout for a mild facial mask to use every week. I wanted a stress and pain-free product, mild enough to use every week, but effective at the same time. So I was pleased when Earth Kiss got in touch, requesting a review. It felt like they read my mind.

I was sent – Detox Mud Pore Cleanse Mud Mask, Clean Up Mud Mask Exfoliate, White Thai Clay Rejuvenate Mud Mask, Million Year Clay Facial Revitalise, Miracle Clay Facial Hydrate Bamboo Sheet Mask, and Moroccan Clay Pore Refine Mud Mask.

Here is what the brand says:

Our unique and 100% natural Earth Kiss face masks are energised with Shilajit and have kept the wonderful ingredients that we collected from around the world when they were called 7th Heaven. We have travelled far and wide to discover pure natural gems. From creamy soft White Thai muds from sunny Thai beaches to Million Year old Rhassoul clay from the Atlas Mountains or deep moisturizing Baobab oil from African upside down trees.

Earth Kiss face masks not only deep cleanse your skin and draw out impurities, like they used to do before as 7th Heaven, but also help to rejuvenate the very essence of your being, while increasing your energy levels and relieving stress and anxiety.

Here are my thoughts:

PROS

  1. These face masks are very affordable at £1.99 per 17g sachet.
  2. Do not be deceived by the small sachet, it is more than enough for the entire face and neck.
  3. I love the colourful packaging. It will definitely catch my eye in the stores.
  4. These face masks can be bought on the My Earth Kiss site or in your local Holland & Barrett, so it is very accessible.
  5. The face masks came with clear instructions on how to apply – cleanse face with warm water, apply face masks, and leave on for 15 – 20 minutes, then rinse off or rinse off when mask feels dry.
  6. There is a face mask for every skin type – Normal, Oily or Combination.
  7. My skin felt soft and supple after application. It also looked a lot clearer.
  8. These face masks are pure natural products, and there are also cruelty free.

Beauty Muse: Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie’s most applauded persona must be that of the successful actress valued for her talent and her edge. Yet, Florence Nightingale Angelina is also the Special Envoy of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
Angelina Jolie
Angelina is a Hollywood powerhouse, juggling her roles and business and wielding the system in her favor with, passion, and commitment. She is also the mother of six adorable children. With all the hassle these roles imply, Angelina is always a stunningly beautiful presence. That’s why she’s this week’s beauty muse on Fashion and Style Police. It might be Angelina’s simple, down-to-earth style that keeps her look fresh and crisp. Think about it: she seems to be running her life on fast-forward. Nonetheless, she doesn’t break a sweat. At least not publicly. That’s one of the reasons why she’s an inspiration to women around the world and a constant challenge to herself. Angelina wants to push boundaries, discover her limits and inspire the world.
In this organized chaos, the beauty muse doesn’t particularly have the time for frivolities. She’s seldom spotted wearing make-up. With the exception of mascara and light eyeshadow, she rarely displays any other carefully constructed make-up. As for her attire, despite the tone of luxurious items, Angelina never goes over the top. Her outfits are clean, simply cut, without extravagant accessories. She rarely wears any other jewelry than her pearls.
While pleading for the cause of women in war in front of the United Nations Security Council, Angelina wore her signature earrings: the pearl studs.
She wears pearl studs at movie premieres, while attending high-level conferences, during outings with her children, and even her beloved simple pearl studs at her wedding.

Angelina’s collection of pearl jewellery is quite impressive. In addition to her many pearl stud earrings, she has been seen rocking pearl drop earrings, pearl necklaces, and pearl pendants. These tiny pieces of organic splendor may lend the beauty muse their luminosity. Nonetheless, she surely lends these jewelry items a personal style that is difficult to ignore.
Since her acting debut, all throughout the 90s and until now, Angelina has remained stunningly beautiful. Her impeccable look and style didn’t change much. She’s sold-out to natural beauty and simplicity, occasionally paired with some outstanding accessory that only enhances her beauty. I bet that at least some of these ideas would please Angelina too.
AJ was the wild child of the 1990s. Directors working with her at the time remember her attitude and the fascination it exerted over them. Not much has changed except for the fact that Angelina is now married to Brad Pitt and is the loving mother of six children. The personal struggle with cancer also reformed her forties.
Angelina Jolie Picture
Angelina Jolie is indeed a beauty muse. Not only is she one of the most attractive women in the world, but also one of the most active women on the global scene. She travels to states that are traversing crises, she supports people, she negotiates at high level and she’s the master of genuine, heartfelt communication.
Angelina plays out her personal life in such a way that it always turns in her favor. She sold her first pictures of Shiloh to magazines without allowing them the time to spread gossip on her family. Knox and Vivienne photos followed in 2008. All the money went to the Jolie-Pitt Foundation.
The same strength and with that typically characterize Jolie’s movie roles also play out in real life. Between acting, satisfying her fans, taking care of her family and being the Special Envoy of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Angelina supervises the activities of the Jolie-Pitt Foundation funding clinics and schools in Afghanistan, Cambodia and Kenya and is active in a number of other foundations dealing with defining programs, wildlife conservation and environmental issues, immigrant children and cancer research.
Throughout all these, she maintains a flawless complexion, radiant at any time. Angelina may be naturally gifted, yet there are three cornerstones to her beauty. Taking care of her skin is of utmost importance. As disclosed by Angelina, a person is beautiful when their skin looks healthy and radiant. Her porcelain white skin is always protected by SPF sun lotions.
Beauty Muse Angelina Jolie
The trademark of this glowing star is the no make-up look. With the exception of some events and when on-screen, Angelina doesn’t wear make-up. Natural beauty is supposed to be…natural, not obtained by ‘tricks’.
When she does wear make-up, Angelina is careful about the balance. Remember a time when she was spotted with dark lip colors? Neither do I. The darkest color on Angelina’s lips is a deep red. Otherwise, she chooses rosy and peachy tones that would complement the deep green of her eyes to perfection. The smoky eyes looks also fits her perfectly and she’s made it her own personal touch.
Angelina is a powerhouse. The well-rounded, restless and witty woman is nothing short of a beauty muse and an inspiration for women around the world.

How to Cash In as a Blogger

book_cover_1563x2500

I published my book – How to Cash In as a Blogger on Amazon a month ago, and I am glad to see it doing so well. I currently have 5 star reviews on Amazon and Goodreads, and I am super excited that bloggers love my book and find it really useful. I didn’t write this book just to make money (but making some good money will be great too), I wrote it to inform and educate bloggers especially the newbies, on the blogging facts I wish I knew when I started Fashion and Style Police in 2012.

I am happy to see the downloads coming in, and to celebrate a month of my book being published, I am giving you a free short sample read.

How To Cash In As A Blogger Image

This book is dedicated to my baby, my blog – Fashion and Style Police and her readers. I love you all.

Introduction

I wrote this book to fill a void in the blogging industry as a whole. As a lifestyle blogger myself, I struggled to find books with adequate information on the business of blogging and realistic ways on how to make money as a blogger. I have read hundreds of blogging books and thousands of blogs and websites, and I have come to the conclusion that a lot more needs to be said, from a full-time lifestyle blogger’s perspective.

This book is written from my personal experience as a lifestyle blogger – http://fashionandstylepolice.com

I take you on an insider journey into the ‘hush hush’ world of blogging. You read blogs and keep up with your favourite bloggers on social media, you see them showing off their perfect lives on Instagram, and you have questions like, ‘how do these bloggers get brands to notice them in the saturated industry?’ ‘How do they get so many loyal followers?’ ‘How do they survive on a full time blogging income?’

This book answers all these questions and many more. I am going to explain in detail how the blogging industry works, how lucrative a profession it is, and how you can also ‘cash in’ on it, if you have the passion for blogging. I will be focusing on how you can make money as a blogger from sponsored posts and product reviews in particular. I will also dish out some tips on how to avoid a blogger burnout, and how to stand out in the saturated world of blogging, where a new blog pops up every minute.

This book is divided into eleven chapters:

  • Building a Brand
  • Jack of all Trades
  • Search Engine Optimisation
  • Attracting the ‘right’ traffic to your blog
  • Get a Media Kit
  • Photography Tips for Bloggers
  • Making Money from your Blog
  • Tips for Sponsored Posts
  • Tips for Product Reviews
  • Avoiding Blogger Burnout
  • A Final Word

This book is for every new or aspiring blogger, in every niche. It can also give an old or established blogger new ideas on how to monetise their blog and keep up in the competitive blogging industry. I enjoyed writing this book and I hope you find it informative and interesting to read.

My Short Story

I have loved reading novels and fashion magazines from when I was a kid. While growing up, I loved reading so much, I would continue to read with a candle or torch whenever the electricity went off, which happened every few hours in my country of birth – Nigeria. I would also take whatever novel or magazine I was reading to the bathroom. I loved reading, and not even the lack of electricity or the urge to use the bathroom could stop me. Guess that was the same time I fell hopelessly in love with writing.

I have also been a lover of fashion and beauty for as long as I can remember. I loved playing with my mother’s makeup, and playing dress up with her clothes and shoes. I remember it being so much fun. Fast forward to October 2012, when I was studying an online style course with the London College of Style, and part of the course assessment was to set up a fashion blog; this led to the birth of my baby, my blog – Fashion and Style Police, which has now become a fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog.

Before the course, I was thinking of setting up a blog but never got around to do it. I had a stressful customer service job at a big gas and electricity company, which sucked the life out of me and which I hated so much. I was also spending a ridiculous amount of time on social media, especially Facebook. So when it became a course requirement to set up a blog, I went for it with both hands on deck. The blog became a blissful escape from my reality, and a more productive way of spending my time online. When my twins arrived in November 2013, I stopped working to care for them, and I started looking to earn a full-time income from Fashion and Style Police, and I eventually started making more than my previous monthly salary in some months.

My blogging journey so far has been full of ups and downs, a bit of a rollercoaster to be honest, but I wouldn’t change anything. Whatever I have experienced so far has helped shaped me as a blogger, and I don’t see myself ever stopping. The sky is just my starting point.

Blogging for over three years now has opened my eyes to how lucrative the blogging industry is. As at the time of writing this book, I am still a stay-at-home mum to my two-year-old twin toddlers, a freelance writer, a fashion, beauty and lifestyle blogger and now an author. Blogging has become a career for me, no longer a hobby, and I can see myself doing this for a very long time.

My first sponsored post was for £25, and it was for a luxury online retailer called Avenue 32. It was offered to me by an SEO agent, working on their behalf, and at that time, I felt so grateful, I accepted the £25 without any negotiations or questions. Fast forward to 2016, I won’t write a sponsored post for anything less than a £100. However, I do accept lower payments from my regulars, on few occasions.

I wish I had a book like this, when I first started blogging. Maybe I won’t have accepted the £25, but I guess we all have to pay our dues somehow. I have paid mine, and this book is to help you make a success of your blog, and start making money from it.

Well that’s all folks. I hope you enjoyed reading. Click here to download the rest of the book.

Have a great week ahead.
